bought my car wrecked. It is very close to completion. It runs and drives, but throws gas out the exhuast raw. It revs fine and does not cut out. I have never done any more than yard driving it, not sure how it does going throught the gears. A couple different people told me to replace the knock sensor, that they usually go bad in wrecks. Car was popped super light on the pass front, and no mechanicals were touched/dammaged. The knock sensor the best bet? If so where is it located?

I seriously doubt the knock sensor has anything to do with raw gas coming out the exhaust. Now the O2, MAP, or TPS sensor or a stuck injector could cause it. Any fault codes?

Have you checked the FP? I accidentally hooked up my map wrong one time, and got raw fuel coming out. It was not fun.

Starting it in the garage, it freakin wreaks, not like the normal exhuast smell. the kinda smell like something is off. I no expert on exhuast sniffing but thats just my opinion.

havent tried codes. No stage kit to my knowledge. Looks bone stock. Will have to check codes and repost.

they do have issues from time to time with stuck injectors. get a mechanics stethoscope and listen to each injector. if one is not clicking, it may be stuck open.

could just be a bit rich from startup though.

Does it have a cat? and I agree it may be an injector. Unplug one at a time for a few minutes and see if the overfueling tapers off.

Clarification. The stage kits do not trip dowstream 02 codes. It does still monitor the upstream 02 tho. The upstream is the one charged with monitoring A/F mizure. The downstream only tells the computer if the cat is working.

Mine sure did but it didn't effect it at all.
