About two blocks from my house is an older Dodge Colt Sport. Five speed, and I don't know what's under the hood. IT has "imported for Dodge" sticker on the back, slight damage to the passenger side, but I'm thinking about a 2.2TURBo swap, intercool and PSI the S**t outta it.

THoughts?

If I ever find one locally, I'm buying it. Light weight, 300+ hp 2.2 turbo transplant and rwd would make for an awesome ride.;)

Does anyone have the specs on this car? Or this type of car? I'm going over tonight to ask him about it.

I just went over there, and had no answer. I'll try again after work tomorrow!

What's wrong with the later FWD ones?

(Don't mind the ghetto I/C plumbing, lol, that's next on the list of things to be done)

Sorry, nothing wrong with the fwd ones, but considering he was talking about a 2.2 swap, I was assuming it was rwd. I don't think Iv'e even heard of anyone putting a 2.2 in a fwd Colt. :o

No worries, I was just having a little fun, and I like showing off my Mirage. :p

Yeah, 2.2 in a FWD Colt/Mirage makes no sense, when you can bolt in a 4G63T.

How heavy is that car? How much boost? 1/4 times?

I might be wrong, but wasn't that "Imported for Dodge" decal only applied to the FWD models?

I think the factory curb weight was something like 2550, it's a relatively heavy car, for how small it is, since Mitsu built some structure into them(the thin sheet metal aside, lol).

I went 14.0@101 on about 13-14 fighting massive wheel hop out of the hole. It was kind of a disappointing time, but the knock sensor was picking up some phantom knock from the exhaust, where I had loosened the DP at the front of the cat to get better exhaust flow, since it still has the disgustingly tiny stock exhaust/stock cat on it, and because of the phantom knock, it was retarding timing pretty good. :o

But I did run a 14.3@98 through the stock exhaust, on straight manifold pressure to the actuator, which was about 9-10psi.

I have yet to actually tune it either. :o

Wow that 14.0 @ 101mph is right with my Spirit R/T. That thing runs pretty good! (With the wheel hop problems I'm guessing street tires. I don't imagine you can fit any large rubber under there either.) Sounds like it will be a monster when you get it dialed in a little better!

I was thinking the 2.2 turbo swap because I have a spare one. I wiki'd it, and it should have the 1.9 liter 84 horsepower. Awesome. That means gas milage. How much are the motors that you swapped into yours? I might just do that...gotta have something not going to be so shiny to deal with the rice in this town.

In 1985, a stock Mirage turbo with the auto was amazing.

Update.
It's a 1989 Dodge Colt. 1.9 liter five speed. Blown motor. He won't sell it becase it has a blown motor. The guy barely speaks English, but I got it across that I don't want the motor. I want the car. I offered him 200 bucks and left him my card. Maybe he'll call, maybe he wont...
