All,

I need a OEM Mopar Daytona "turndown style" exhaust tip for my project.

Anyone got one to sell?

Thanks,
Marion

I don't have the parts you need. Just trying to help out.

Is this the oval tip that holds both the small circular outlets of the muffler? I don't remember any special finish to them, probably stainless.
Or the dual circular tips that had a slight bend in them to point them down?
Other than those, I can't think of any other exhaust tips for the turbo cars.

All the turbo Daytonas I've seen have the oval shaped tip, most other cars had the dual slash cut tips.

No promises, but let me look through my stash this weekend.

The oval tip was gone in 89. I believe this had to do with the ground effects changing. The 89 C/S AGS car I had just had the dual tip muffler.

^^That is correct.

IMHO the stock oval SS tip that came on the turbo Daytona's and Laser's are one of the best looking exhaust tips ever made...now if people would actually keep them clean and polished!

The oval tip is the low grade SS used on the rest of the system with some kind of shell around it. I don't know if the shell is SS or chrome, though. They seem to get corroded easily.

I've got 3 of those tips...they all polish up nicely and I've never seen corrosion on them. Then again, I'm in Florida, so...

At any rate I can say with 99.99% certainty that the tips are stainless, not chrome.

They have to be stainless, I see them pitted up on the drivers side from rocks, but they are never rusty, or corroded. They are pretty much 100% always dirty.

Cool. I kept mine even though it looked like hell. I have a 3" tip on there now, but the stocker would be cool.

I agree that they are the best looking. Here's mine all clean
and polished. I also have a NOS tail pipe/muffler and tip
in the garage.

I keep all mine nice and clean. The one on my '88 is shortened to aout 1/3 its origional length because I have it installed on the back of my Borla XR-1 muffler with a 3" outlet. It actually fit(had to "open it up" to get it to go over the muffler outlet)...people that don't know can't tell it's not stock! :)

Exactly. They fit nicely over a 3" pipe and no one knows the difference.

The only one I have on hand at the moment is reserved for the Charger, but I'll keep an eye out for an extra one.
