Okay, I got a great window for the rear of my 1986 SHelby charger. It took me about 1/2 hour to pry it out of a old junker. Now, I want to put it back in my freshly painted 1986. What is the best way? I have heard that I should get Glycerine and some 1/8" nylon rope or cord, glycerine the rope up, put it in the channel, put the window in place, and slowly pull the cord out.

Any other suggestions?

Now I need to go get a pair of new door handles so I am not locked out of the car :)

That's how I did the rear window in my Omni, worked great.

Eh, just be patient and put it back in by hand. I have pulled out and replaced the rear window I don't know how many times and never broken it. Just do one little bit at a time and it will be in like Flynn.

I just want it to go as smoothly and easily as possible. :)

Use the rope. That's how we've always done ours...takes a matter of minutes.

When I was in the glass biz we always used the rope trick. Just be certain the split in the rubber at the base of the glass is centered and don't forget to put the lock strip back in.. we pulled from inside the hatch...

Cheers
