Dang! The check engine light came on today. P0340 - cam position sensor. I cleared it with the scan gauge, but it comes back after driving a bit. Puts it into limp-in mode, 2300rpm max. :( My '04 was one that still got the 7/70 powertrain, so I'll let the dealer "deal" with it on Monday.

At 57K miles I feel like it's holding up pretty well. I take good care of it, but I also drive it like it's meant to be driven. So far, these are the only problems I've had:
- one rear caliper was sticking (dealer replaced at no charge)
- stock boost gauge went south (I replaced with Aeroforce scan gauge)
- front wheel bearings (I replaced bearings and hubs)
- and now the cam position sensor

Well, at least the Skittles haven't strayed too far from the TD tree:lol: They are fairly reliable, if you are willing to put up with some minor walk home maladies;)

History always repeats itself...

1985 ==> 2005

hall effect ==> cam sensor

LOL!! Does that mean that the SRT guys carry an extra one in their glove box?

Maybe the SRT 4 guys that also own an 80's TM?

After viewing SRT forums for year, the typical SRT 4 owner would get out their handy texting tool and make a FTL!!!1!!!11! post on SRTF while waiting for their parents to come pick them up. ;)

I'm too old. When I see FTL I think "Fruit of the Loom." I'm not as old as Ken, though. :p

This is so true.... I can't tell you how many "I did this, and then this happened, am I screwed?" threads there are.... or the ever so popular "I drove like an a$$hole and wrecked my car, everyone feel sorry for me." threads.

I've drove a total of 90,000 km behind the wheel of a SRT and I only had to get the plug wires and tps harness done, both under warranty. I drive like a civilized person on city streets but on back highways I drive like I stole it. I've been known to do a few runs down the 1/4 as well.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles. I am at 54-55k miles now and mine has been extremely reliable. Mine is Stage 3 equiped and I drive it to work every day. I haven't had any of the typical "SRT problems" yet.

My SRT-4 failed emissions inspection last week, apparently there were some hidden codes. I know I had checked it for codes by cycling the key, before I brought it in, and none were present.
I had brought it to PepBoys for this. So after it failed, they asked me if I would like a complete computer diagnostic. For this they wanted to charge me $90. So I asked what the codes were. They said that they needed to do the diagnostic before they could tell me what codes it has. I declined obviously. I then requested the emissions test printout, which of course had the fault codes printed on it.

Anyway, they were automatic transmission codes, a result of the turbo toys. So I ordered the code scrubber from N2MB, and installed that today. Very easy. I hope it works!
