L-body glove box door strap broken: Repair options?

The plastic strap on the glove box door of my GLHT was cut by someone at some point, so the door wont stay level when open.

What have people done to fix this problem? Ive got some ideas, but I figured maybe someone already had something that worked well.

Get another one from a junkyard. :)

The inner box will slide out if you take the screws out. The strap will easily disconnect on the back side once you have the innner box out.

Omnis and chargers should be the same so there are lots of them out there.

A new one is about $8, to me thats worth not burning out some gas and digging around a junkyard, unless you are already going. pn 4047424
