Some of the cheaper aftermarket ford TBs have leaky throttle plates and cause a lot of idle problems.
I think the ford racing one on summit is still under $200 so it might be worth it...
I am just going to go with a stock 87-93 60mm mustang unit. The 60mms are only $25 on ebay and are probably higher quality... The mustang unit is nice for Megasquirt since it uses a ford 2 wire AIC rather than the stepper type like the TD/Jeep/GM TBs use (2G neons also use an AIC rather than a stepper).
70mm is going to give a pretty bad tip in and possibly bad fuel economy. A 70mm TB is about the same throttel plate area as dual 49.5mm TBs. That means it is over twice the size of our stock 2.2/2.5 TB.

I recently got a couple stock Ford of 60mm Mustang TBs.
The throttle blades didn't seal as well as the Jeep unit I have and they were more bulky.
Overall I like the 4.0l Jeep TB better.

i got a 75mm off ebay and it sealed fine. even had a threaded shaft so i was able to use the TD cam with some minor modifications.

Why so big?
Have you done any comparisons vs a 60mm unit to see if there were any gains?
