Is anyone making and selling this adapter to mount the dist to the 2.4 head?

I thought they would be killed by the electronic version but it seems there might still be demand.

I drew this up 6 months ago and dropped it. In the meantime a guy that I do waterjet work with got a CNC so I just sent him my design and will see what the pricing looks like.

The cam adapter is the harder piece. Here is my drawing:

The plate is no big deal. I have it drawn up with a rounded teardrop type shape right now but I can change it to be more fancy if people want them.

I will work on a price in the next few days.

My machinist has the dxf file for it I just need to play cad program conversion with him and see if we can get it right.

I will keep you guys posted over the next couple of days.

I will try to get some prices aswell. I want to try and get them to around $150 or cheaper.

If you haven't responded with interest in this thread or in a PM to me let me know so I have an idea of how many people would want one. If more people want them they will be cheaper...

I just don't want to be stuck holding a bag of 20 of them! :)

i have a prototype as well that we could possibly make a run of:

even has oiling provisions

how much did it cost to make??

Looks nice. I had thought about changing out the drive notch but never too seriously.

Wouldn't it leak if you put oil to it? The oring is the only seal and it doesn't seal the shaft.

Good work. If you can make those cheaply to meet the demand then I can stop my efforts as I did a while back. I just started it up again because I have a design and there seemed to be demand.

Let me know if you are seriously interested in making these I don't want us both doing it and one or both of us taking a bath. The community and money on this venture is too small for that to be worth it. There are better things for both of us to do than compete on these so long as they are priced reasonably. :)

t3rse, have you run that setup yet? looks nice. if you and Rich got together and can up with something i feel enough people will jump on and buy them. i at least know i would, would save me a lot of time coming up with something to work.

no i haven't run it yet. it is just a prototype as mentioned, and i don't think it'll leak with oil, but the dist is designed to get a tad bit of oil if you notice the oil groove on the shaft.

the adapter that pins to the shaft on the one that i have is off a hair so it binds, but the machinist (another dodge nut) has made another for me but i have yet to pick it up and see.

i'll see how much it would cost for him to make a batch. i'm close to being done, but keep finding new irritations. i'd really like to run it before i vouch for it's functionality.

I revised mine a bit to keep the costs down. There are pictures in the other thread:

I need to call my machinist again to see if he had any problems with the cad files and when he can get them cut. Hopefully I will have the first one at this time next week.

Rich, what is the exact location of the dowl pin hole in the small adapter? I'm using the dizzy drawings and specs but it doesn't reference the location for this hole.

Thanks.

Mine are scheduled to get cut on Tuesday. After I check the first one out I can then make any required modification and cut the rest of them.

They got Delayed a bit... We should really combine the two threads on this topic. I had posted some details on the delay in the other thread.

Anyway... I pick up the prototype tomorrow. Things are always slow in the auto industry for some reason... The story goes that one of his workers accidentally ripped the sink off the wall in the shop bathroom and flooded the place. I guess it wasn't quite wheelchair accessible. Crazy stuff. :(

If the prototype looks good I will put it on my head and take pictures. I can then take orders and do a production run of 10 or more depending on demand. I should then be able to have him put me on the cut list to make more whenver we need them.

Sorry for the delays I too find it very annoying and unacceptible to be delayed this long. We just don't get the cutlist prioirty that Roushe gets for their cup car parts that are also going through his shop... (go figure)

I'm getting real close to getting the engine started. About all I have left to change before I can attempt a test fire is the lengthing the fuel injector harness and do the dizzy mod. I'm trying not to hack up the underhood wiring harness but yesterday I did some cut/splice to extend the TPS and AIS wires to the throttle body.
