Blue Iroc R/T

I have confirmed the location of ALL 8 Blue Iroc R/T's (Produced to US Spec.). With one qualifier; that the location of the One Blue Iroc R/T was known prior to it being stolen in Mar. 2002 (location has not been confirmed since that time). Plus I have confirmed the location of ONE of the TWO Blue Iroc R/T's built to Export Spec. So NOW only one Export Blue Iroc R/T is un accounted for.
Barberton, Ohio
Mansfield, Ohio
Detroit, Mi.
Indiana, Pa.
Montross, Va.
Long Island, NY (No pics)
Indianapolis, In. area (Stolen Mar.02)
Jay, Oklahoma
Export Spec. = Quebec, Ca.

Pics of all of the Blue Iroc R/T's (except for the Long Island R/T) can be seen by clicking on the first picture (upper left corner) on the main page of my site. www.pbase.com/rmscott All of them are roadworthy &/or show worthy.
The latest find, Oklahoma R/T was recently purchased after setting in weeds in someones yard. You can read the short story on its find in the heading with its pictures. New pics of this car will be forth coming when the weather breaks and he has a chance to do a little TLC. I have refered him to this site, but I don't know what is screen name is yet. I don't think he has yet had the opportunity to learn how valuable this site can be for a TD owner.

That is great! I am glad that you have almost all of them tracked down. It is always neat when there are cars that are so well documented.

Yeah, It happens to be in the same back yard as a Phantom R/T DOHC. You never know what is lurking behind those closed garage doors.

I'm almost positive I've seen that Oklahoma car before. Many many years ago my father & I were heading from TX to Iowa to visit the grandmother when we met one of those heading south on one of the Turnpikes in Oklahoma. Can't recall if it was the Indian Nation or Will Rogers pike, but I always remember the car because the color was so unique.

When those Iroc R/T's came out I almost traded in the 86 C/S Daytona on one, but the local dealership never got anything other than the base model. I'm glad I kept the car now, but I still lust for an R/T from time to time.

Was the one in Indiana the one the owner of Danville Dodge had? I looked at that car in the 90's for sale there.

I'm not sure who the original owner was. The owner when it got stolen was from Mooresville, Ind., just south of Indianapolis. The owner prior to him was in the Great Lakes SDAC. I can't remember his name right now. Barry might remember who it was.

Well I'm in the area if you need a photographer, I could even break out the tripod :eyebrows: (read: without it the pics might turn out like Alan's and all fuzzy)

Ralph... remember the guy who popped up on TD almost 2 years ago with a red IROC R/T? When he showed a pic of the engine bay, besides the T-III ngine, you could tell the car was a re-paint of a BLUE Daytona. One possible Blue IROC R/T, or the stolen blue iroc r/t that was re-painted.

Several years ago Kokomo Chrysler (Indiana) got a blue IROC on trade and asked if I wanted it. They are one of my sponsors and sell me their cars at their cost. It was a GREAT looking car that was taken car of and had a small dent in the rt ft fender. I said yes, but the exwife (she married the exchange student we sponsored) said no sice it was a 2 dr. So I put an add out for them I think on the SDML and Ed Lucas and a buddy of his came down to look at it. The friend traded his red Spirit R/T for it and away it went toward the Indy area. I then bought the R/T, put a bleed on it to ruin high 13's, then sold it through the same list to a guy that took a bus from PA to buy it and drove it back....to think that I was SOOOOO CLOSE to getting that car!

Steve, I think that turned out to be a V6 car IIRC.

Ralf, great job locating all those cars.

Awesome work Ralph! I guess that would prove the myth of the Blue R/T being painted green by a chrysler exec.

I have no idea where he is on Long Island. The email addy that I have for him keeps getting bounced back and he isn't answering his phone. So, I guess I will have to be patient and keep trying.
