well....my car has obtained some type of tic/knock/bad sounding noise
91 dodge spirit 2.5l n/a A413
I got on the highway and got up to to about 80 in 2nd gear....about 5000-5250RPMs so i didnt even red line it. then i let off and put it into drive. about a mile later i noticed a bad noise and confirmed it at the toll booth about another 2 miles down the road. when i got to the toll booth my oil pressure guage drop to zero but came back when i put the tranny in nuetral. I drove it about another 20 miles after that.....
ima take the VC off tomoro just to make sure everything looks ok up there. if its in the bottom end i think ima just see how long it lasts...hopefully it will last long enough till i get my new engine built

If you lost oil pressure, sounds like a rod bearing probably went south. Take the oil pan off and check the bearings before you do anymore damage.

^ +1... Sounds almost exactly like what my Daytona did when I spun the first bearing in it couple years back... PARK IT, and pull the pan... The more you drive it in this condition, the more likely it is you'll need a whole new motor, or at the least a reman'd crank..

I think he wants to blow it up. Make him get the new engine in sooner ;)

all the rods feel nice and tight on the crank
checked the compression mainly cause the #1 plug was tan and the rest were white

Take the caps off, they can still feel tight and be bad. How are the mains?

I had one spin and it was still tight to the feel--when pulled the lower bearing was completely up under the upper one---only visual clue was discoloration of rod--it was brown while others dark gray---bobr19

Put some RTV in the corners and let it get tacky before you put it back together, aprox 10-15 mins.

Tighten up the chain, just push the shoe in snugly after you loosen the bolts. I can't really tell from the pic, too distorted.

well i got the BS assembly out and check the rod bearings...none of them looked realy good but not too bad...untill the 4th one which was destroyed
i check the local advance...a set of standard size sealed power rod bearings is only $14 so i guess i'll replace them

See, a few hours of your time and now you have a reliable engine. If you had left it, it would have grenaded, :(
