well i got this truck for 200 bucks what a steal anyways did a lil maintaince and got it drivable. I noticed when i put it in 4hi and drive around i get a clunking noise every couple seconds say 10 or so. sounds like its coming front beneith me(tc or trans) is it possible its not in gear all the way and popping in and out. fast i go the more repetitive it is. Are these prone to doing so. how should i fix it? I was thinking of checking the linkage

I don't know much about them but I'd be figuring on checking the U-joints on the front driveshafts. Unless the front diff is locked up and you're getting "wind up" on dry pavement.

also that transfer case is chain driven, may want to look into that also

I'll plus one the T-case chain. Different vehicle but same issue.

can you buy a new chain, i heard they often stretch, are maybe the gears worn down. the truck cost me very little i dont want to have to throw a bunch of money into it, i was thinking of selling it anyways

from the dealer its $180, and I beleive you have to split the case and take things apart
