Car idles great. But I have a code 53 with my ladybug cal, is it normal?

If not, where do I start looking?

Completely normal for a custom cal.

Yup if that's the one I think it is, mine has it as well and has been running great for a couple years.

D-cal can get rid of it by fixing the checksum, but I don't like the way it's done. It overwrites the Cal ID - which will make AutoID by a scantool not work anymore.

You can also mask it out using the CEL mask constant. That will keep it from setting the code when it does detect a real error, however.

What's the correct way to fix the 53 error code and will allow the computer to display the real error?

Fix the checksum, but do it without disturbing the CalID constant. You'd probably have to do it manually - yuk.

Well, you can guess what my next question is...

How do you fix the checksum without CalID constant?

Can this be done by a person with no software programming skill?

If hes running ladybug he should just be able to disable the routine that sets a code 53 correct?

Also, I thought Geoffs compiler did an automatic checksum update. Im running ladybug and ive never had a code 53

though not ladybug, i have a problem with blueberry not storing codes. i can see them live with a scanner but they will not stay in there for me to see with the key on/off dance. wonder what that one is. ill work on it in the spring as the car is away and its crazy cold right now. :)
