Going to re-do the lines on my Daytona. I know how it is going to be routed, but just have a question about the actual vacuum lines/hose to use. I don't want the LOOK AT ME red/blue/purple ricer stuff, and black is just too plain. I was thinking about this set--> http://www.amazon.com/Gasket-11031S-GSport-Silver-Silicon/dp/B000BWDZ36 . My question is should I have any problems with these lines? It's silver and should look good when I paint my VC and intake flat black. I also ordered a aluminum vacuum manifold today too! Ordered it off McMaster Carr, 3/8"npt inlet with 6 1/4"npt outlets. I know thats proably too many, but I only want to do this once. Its a dual port block so it has two rows of three holes, one on top and one on the side, inlet on the end. ( http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?partnum=5469K22&pagenum=198 ). Getting ready to also upgrade the stock mitsu with a stock 89 garret T2 turbo! So off with the head, and clean it up while I'm in there.

hmmm... that's a good idea, but judging by the pics they have there, the id seems pretty small or else the overall thickness is really high.

That is a different brand than I used, but I did us the silver silicon hose. Mine looks the same as what your looking at. I have had no issues with mine what so ever. It's even cleans up nicely when dirty.

And thats a great price if it is like what I have. I paid $31 each for 2 kits :yuck: I may buy some more from Amazon for my other cars :p

Yeah, retail from Summit was $29ea. I decided to do a google search with the part number and that was like the second link. Thanks for the picture too! Thats the look I'm going for.

Product Features-

*Made from a superior formula silicone compound
*Silver hose has ultra-thick walls that prevents collapsing and kinking when used for tight radiuses
*Designed for demanding race cars as well as street
*Kit contains enough hose to replace most of the dominant vacuum hoses
*Not for brake, fuel, oil or any pressure lines<-- Should I worry about this

Nah, they mean high fluid pressure like fuel line or tranny lines.

Thats what I thought. I did have a cheap piece of blue vac line that I got from a friend for a quick fix one nite. Later on I found that it would expand slightly under just light throttle. But this stuff looks good. Just got a e-mail that it was shipped!

Cool!

When I redid my system it had profound effects. It's amazing how well they run with no leaks :p My lines are thick like those and have no expansion problems at all.

GLHS232 your main line to your "vacuum block" has a big kink in it. Sorry But why do you guys like this sh1t?? You've got huge crap running all over your engine bay. To me it just looks like a ClusterF-ck. I guess I just like my lines clean, simple, with better performance than stock or Silicone. http://www.pnw-sdac.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2652

No kinking, flow better than stock but look stock. And hide in the engine bay like they're not even there.

you can just barely see the other lines hooking around the bracket on the 2 piece intake's fuel rail behind the FPR.

I changed it a little bit due to that actually.

Update! Had my car together for a few weeks but just took this pict.

You can see the vac block (see above link) and silver vac lines. I pluged the stock vac hole and drilled and taped my t1 intake for the 90 deg ell for the vac block. The stock hole was at a bad angle. I don't like the square head plugs I got, need to find some allen head plugs.

Looks nice, How much of the line did you have left over?

Just a little bit of each size. I did run a piece to the stock boost sol, so that took a big piece.
