Ive owned my 1989 Turbo mini for a year and maybe a month or two. well its been sitting for a year because it spun to rod bearings while racing some supercharged Pontiac. I just recently got motivated to rebuild it so I just wanted to share some pics. Ill be updating as I get stuff done. Please comment and share any info you think I should know. This is my first old school TD. I also own a 400+ whp 05 SRT-4 & a 9 sec 97 Neon.

Felpro, bad idea, :(

What underneath pics do you need?

You need to take off the alt bracket to put the timing belt on.

I read about the Felpro issues people were having after I purchased this one. Since the Permatorque is a MLS gasket I hope it works out.

I just wanted to know if everything in that pic looked right so far.

LoL! I know I just put it together to test fit.

You have a 400+HP SRT4, but you need confirmation that you installed a 2.2/2.5 alt bracket properly? :confused2:

You have any better pics of the MLS gasket without the goop?

Whats the part number, I've tried to get one locally but all I ever find is the gray graphite shite one, :(

Whats my SRT have to do with my van? :confused2: I don't know the old TD's like I know my Neons. If I had something to use as a reference then I would have. I installed it right just wasn't sure about the aluminium spacer. I will never claim to know everything so I'm not afraid to ask questions.

Is the gasket your getting all graphite or does it have metal on the bottom? This one is all metal on the bottom only. Here is a pic of the label.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just thought that someone with a good amount of experience working on cars would either have a manual, or have taken pics/drawings when pulling stuff apart.

One side does have a metal pattern so to speak but the whole gasket is graphite. Not a good combo for boost, it likes to squeeze out. Someone did find an real MLS gasket, like a Cometic and gave the part number you listed but I never get it, just the graphite POS, :(

No offence taken. Unfortunately a friend decided to do me a favor and take accessories off the block so that it could be scarped so I didn't see the parts come off.

No its not all metal. Maybe its there in-between gasket since its not a full MLS. I'm going to call them Monday for more info.

Ok, it sounds like you have the regular graphite gasket, they do have a metal type plate on one side.

Same part number. Like I said earlier, someone posted that number up and said it was an MLS gasket, a real one, he even posted a pic but I can't find one, except a Cometic, :(
