Whats the deal with the Durango SP360?

Ive always liked the look of these things. Are these a true Shelby truck? Was Carrol working for Chrysler in the late 90's? Whats the history here? I never hear anyone discussing these on the forums.....whats the deal? Anyone own one?

its a real shelby vehicle. Pretty basic, super charged 360, ground effects/bumper/hood, custom seats, blue paint w/ white stripes, decals, etc. usually sell for more than I would give.

Not all were SC thought, so you have to make sure :) I remember a local dealer had two when I was younger. One SC, one Not. Not bad looking.

SP360 = supercharged

Trucks without the SP360 designation have a standard V8. I would stay away from the blown trucks as I have heard major horror stories and the Kenne Bell package for these trucks was not engineered very well at all. Also the special parts are unobtainium now.

Interesting. I think its a bit odd that we never read about one of these on the forums and there isnt much interest amongst us Shelby Dodge guys. Probably for the same reason I wouldnt own one......too much money.

Meh whatever... the picture of the article is all about SP360's, then down in the thread a guy is talking about the "Super Pursuit II" that isn't an SP360 just a look alike. The dealer near me had one of each, both numbered... Or I thought, it's been 10 or so years now, I can't even remember lunch yesterday :)

A guy in our club had/has a dakota with a s/c. His name is stan but he only comes around once in a blue moon. Lives not to far from me. I never seen it though. At another dealership I worked at some tard had a dakota r/t and bought a supercharger and everything they made for it out of the mopar book (great way to build an engine huh), last i heard he couldnt get it running haha

i have always seen them on ebay, the interiors are very nice, i even seen all 3 rows of seats for $1500 buy it now a couple of years ago.

didnt they only make 360 of them? i remember seeing the dash plaque in a pic, just cant remember yesterdays lunch either, gary.
