So has the bolt pattern and offset changed over the years? I am just wondering if I can put a set of SRT wheels on a 1985 Dodge 2wd pickup.

Which SRT wheels are you planning on using? Srt-4 has too small a bolt pattern and the offset is way wrong. SRT-8's maybe. SRT-10 ram, maybe also.

The dodge pickups were a small bolt pattern (5 on 4.5" standard mopar car bolt pattern) for a long time but switched to a 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern somewhere in the 80's. I can't remember what year they changed. I know my 77 ram was a small bolt pattern and my 89 was a big bolt pattern, as is my 96.

Ah, It's an 85. It has a cracked windshield...... wonder how difficult that will be to replace.

I saw a guy that used lowering shackels and dakota drop front spindles on his.... looked good. It just seems hard to find good info on them.

when the new rams come out with the 20's I seen quite a few people take those off, put like 22's on their new truck then put the 20's on their old 80 rams

Go to www.ramchargercentral.com. It is about the only forum out there for 1972-1993 Dodge trucks.

I've always heard that mid 1985 was the switchover point. My 1985 has the big bolt pattern. I've never looked to see what month it was built.

Not any harder than any other vehicle from that era. JC Whitney sells a complete window/weatherstripping kit that includes a new windshield strip.

Where did you see this? I have heard about the Dakota drop spindle mod but never have seen any pictures. I had planned to cut the springs up front and flip the rear. I have 2" lowering shackles on the truck now and it isn't anywhere near my desired level.

Another thing I just thought of. I tried my 1998 SS/T's wheels on my 1985 Ram. The offset is way wrong. The 2002-2008 trucks (SRT-10) have the same offset as the 1994-2001 trucks.

Length of 3/8 poly rope, bottle of glycerine (the old standby dish soap is full of salt) handle for the rope, suckers to hold onto the windshield with, and 2 guys, one to lean on the windshield and hold it in position and the other to rip the rope out of the seal and seat it.
