View Full Version : What size TB?

Ok, I have to remove my intake to paint it so if needed, I can upgrade my TB at the same time. I am running the 52mm now, and have a 58mm that I tried on my 8 valve.

Which one should I use, I will still be driving on the street, :nod:

Make one out of a tin fire bucket and an enamel plate... :D

Any street driving issues are probably mostly gonna be due to tip-in issues, so if it's twitchy you can make a variable ratio throttle arm. Could cause issues with low end torque if you haven't got a lot of volume in your plenum and runners.

Another thing to think about is, if you've got any sign of going lean at top end, you might wanna put off breathing upgrades until you've got more fuel to play with.

BTW, as far as I can figure the 750ish CFM of a 52mm should support boost in the high teens at 7,500 ish. Think you only need 58mm if you're going into the 20s approaching 2 bar.
