.........are on a thread on teamshelby.com. (Shelby Dodge Forums)

I know a few people were interested in seeing more of that car. I understand it sold for $8500, and although the pic on the B-Jack website showed it without the front airdam, it did indeed come with the car.

Seems like a good price for a unique car, especially considering it's been in private hands for 14 years.

No VIN - how would you get it registered?

Did your buddy buy it? or does anyone know who did?

Nope, he was just a spectator... If I knew with enough lead time I could have had him get a bid card but quite honetly I have way too many project cars as it is :)

Yea, whats up with that head? He was all secretive about posting it and then he put pics up and it looks like a regular swirl head. :confused2:

Best I can figure is that the buyer got swindled into thinking it was something more.

Yeah I didn't think that head looked like anything special, and that's coming from someone who knows a good bti about these cars but never spent all that much time looking at the bottoms of heads.

I love that car though and wish I found it for sale locally or some'n. $8.5 isn't bad though considering it was a prototype and appears to be in nice condition other than the paint. If I had it, I'd be redoing it specifically for shows and wouldn't even worry about driving it since you couldn't drive it on the street anyways. Make her a trailer queen :D

What's with the Le Mans rims comment though? I thought Le Mans rims were what came on the CSX-T's and just had the inserts painted white to match the car. Steve said there that the Le Mans rims on the CSX are different in terms of the center cap? Aren't they just the same wheel with different paint in the inserts?

Not sure about that, but I agree on the car. Seems like a good deal, and in good shape. The engine, although not a 'prototype' does look clean. And having a prototype car like that would be pretty neat. The best one to have still is the birthday car since it was on a magazine cover and is kind of recognized, but this is a neat piece of history.

If i bought it, I would be kind of wishing he had not scratched the autograph into the hood.

+1 Why in the hell did he do that? lol.. It doesn't look good that's for sure.

I have pics of this car from the day at the auction setting alongside the 90 prototype cars. I didn't know it was still around until this whole Barrett thing popped up.

BTW, does Steve not frequent here anymore or what?

LeMans wheels are different, they have a 5mm different offset to give the car a wider track, so some CSX-T owners used them as "cheater rims" while racing, by painting the black, white.

Joe Anderson, who has had countless #d cars, and still has '87 CSX "Proto-1"(I have pics if anyone is interested in seeing it), picked up a CSX-T back in the day and it happened to have two LeMans wheels on one side, and two CSX-T wheels on the other, lol.

LeMans wheels were sold through Shelby.

Thanks for the info Matt, I didn't know they were different. Please do post pics of that in a separate thread if you would!

I was wondering why Steve (shelbymotorsports) doesn't come here anymore. Does Alan know why?

I am scratching my head at the engine, looks like any normal T1 motor, I too was expecting a 16v hybrid of some sort.

The only thing I can see with the head is no CD's and the valves are huge.

I would be really bummed out if I bought that car and that was the experimental head that came with it.

Missed this reply Brad sorry.

What I can say for sure is, I don't really know:confused2: I've known him 15+ years but still don't really know him. Not what he does for work, city he lives in etc. Heck, some guys have been in the club a few months and I know more about them.;) Steve likes his privacy. At Carroll Shelby's 85th Birthday Bash in Vegas a few weeks ago he was living it up, rented a Shelby 350GT, was doing powerslides and burnouts in the parking lot and generally having a great time. Props to him for his parking lot antics:D made it fun for the rest of us. He is very active at Team Shelby.com Send him a PM over there and ask him whats up. BTW wheres your SoCal Bud been? Haven't seen him at any meets in a while, tell him we are doing Irwindale Raceway this Thursday the 31st.

Oops Alan,

Sorry didn't see your reply back. I'll pm Steve to see why he quit coming here. I think Mike is trying to get his R/T running (imagine a TIII that's broken?) I'll call him and tell him to make it to the next meeting. I know when I came out he had a good time at the meeting. He is Zin on here. I've talked to Mike about flying out for SDAC so hopefully he'll make it. Maybe the SoCal guys will have more people than some of the local guys.
