Alright I've got some $$$ and want to start building my 3" exhaust system for my Spirit RT. I'm going 3" mandrel out the back with 3" turndown if I can find one. Probably going with Bullet "Oval" muffler and a cat with a pipe shoved through it. I got a couple questions.

What have u guys used for bends over the rear axle? Looking at it I would say a 49 degree bend from the DP-back, then 1 90* bend, then another 90* bend going to the rear axle. A 45* bend going up above the axle, 45* bend to across the axle, then a 45* bend going down the backside of the axle, then another 45* bend out the back of the rear axle? Does this make sense? If not I can fab up a drawing....

So, what are you guys using?

I am not sure on what bends, but I would recommend you buy them from our new vendor Racing-Solutions :)

+++++1 on that. I had a chance to meet Adam from Racing-Solutions last night for dinner... a very kool guy, and very nice at that. I can tell he knows exactly what he's doing, and hell you can't beat the price for that exhaust kit. Shoot him a PM about the 3" exhaust kit.

I did mine with cut up U-bends. The angles sound about right except my muffler points a little downward. I don't have think Ihad enough room for 2 45s at the end. Would have made the muffler hang too low. These are for a shadow but I'm sure they're pretty close.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll deffinately be ordering them from our new vendor! VERY reasonable prices!

Turbo Shad,
Hey thanks a ton for the pics! They make it much easier to understand. Yeah, I think you're right on the 45's out the back. After thinking about it, I probably wouldn't have enough room.

i got my bends at the local electrical contractors store. $10-$15 per bend, and they are huge in different degrees

For my shadow (see above) I used 2 U-bends.

so maybe like 2 90s and 1 45 bend...

Looking at the first pic above, I would think (4) 45's and (2) 90's.
1 45 for the downpipe.
2 90's for the jog over
1 45 to go up over the axel
1 45 to go back down
1 45 to make it go straight out the back

Like Boostmonkey said in the first post.

You will need a 90 deg for each big bend before the axle. THe it will take more then a 45 deg to get through the axel. Probably easiest to get at least 1 U bend to cut up for the over axle pipe. Maybe? a 30 deg pipe for the downpipe bend into the exhaust.

crap I wrote this yesterday and never sent it.
Anyways Im sure other dudes instructions are better.
