My newest item is alternator bushings for the 1990-94 (4-cylinder cars).
You have a choice of hard or soft. Hard gives less flex, these are like the ones I have for the 1984-89 cars. The soft ones are like stock rubber but made out of polyurethane AND last longer.
$12 a pair plus $5 priority mail.
These are not on my web site yet.

I have your Alt bushings in my 'S. No problems so far. Need to get a couple more sets of each style. I was just wondering why are you offering two stiffness' on the later cars?

Great to see you adding more items Johnny. I currently don't have any of the cars with the newer alt bracket, but sure could have used these about 5 years ago when my wife had her 91 Daytona.

Here is the web page with the bushings......

http://polybushings.com/pages/altbushings.html

Why a choice of hard or soft?
Just because there are people that may want one or the other.
Soft is like the factory rubber, but last longer.
Hard is less flex in the mount.

Because the bushings changed mid year 1990 and because someone may have a bracket that they are not sure of, I added the sizes to this alternator page.

This new item is being developed for the LH cars. Not a turbo-mopar but I still wanted to let people know it is being worked on, because I want to give all Dodge guys products no one else makes. These are engine cradle (subframe/k-frame) mounts for the Dodge Intrepid and sister cars.

Johnny, not sure if you've let them know over at intrepids.net, but that may be a good place to advertise them. I haven't been there in a while, but it was a fairly active site back when I had my Eagle Vision TSi.

What would you recommend for a lower ball joint boot on an '86 Daytona? I've been looking at the parts stores and it seems like you have to buy the entire ball joint just to get the boot.

Second, I've got a '68 Sweptline pickup. It has a hopped up 440 in it and I can't keep a trans mount in it to save my life. I've got the engine chained in to keep the front mounts from breaking (again). The trans mount is just a piece of rubber between two pieces of metal. There is a company that makes a poly version and I've broken two of those already.

Johnny

Do you have poly engine mounts...to help hold things in place? That might help save the trans mount also.

When I bought my mounts, the only thing available was stock rubber. Schumacher creative services is supposed to be offering a locking mount, but I haven't check to see if it is out yet. I was not impressed by a rubber mount I bought from them (one of the studs broke off before I reached the suggested torque).

I've never been able to find a replacement boot that's any good. You can get tie rod end boots no problem, but the only ball joint boots are the universal "Help!" brand ones that are split down the side and you are supposed to ziptie them together. They never work right. If you can find a tie rod end boot with a base that's big enough, it could work.

the ball joints are the same used on the first gen neon, and if a tie rod boot will work, enregy suspension makes poly ones 9.13103g for black and 9.13103r for red

mopar is the only source for rear spring isolators for these cars. and the lowers are a bad design all together (IMO). steel core that rots out and takes your axle with it. + being on backorder now for atleast 6 months now

I'll gladly take a superior replacement product

good job on the LH parts. those subframe bushings get a good trashing and have to be replaced often.. and dealer cost is RIDICULOUS considering you just have to replace them again in a few years.

OT but im glad i disassembled my intrepid and scrapped it. when it ran right it was a hilarious sleeper that would run with stockish 4.6 mustangs and a lot of 'sport compacts' but more often then not it would run slow for no discernible reason and leave me cursing. inconsistent to the extreme. anyway i did throttle bodies, lower gears, shorter tires, intake and exhaust, high stall torque converter, and on a good day that thing wouldnt hook up 1st gear (45mph) from any roll and sounded mean.. true duals flow 40s. hilarious to see peoples reactions to a bigass family car burning up tires from a 30mph roll and then hanging with their stupid mustang. anyway i scrapped it and good riddance!! lol

NEW item, a new design front anti-sway bar that fits the 1989-90 stamped a-arm cars.
It is 1-1/4" diameter, includes polyurethane bushings and endlinks. Yes, this bar uses
endlinks, unlike the factory bar that uses 4 bushings. This is a better design!
It is $199 plus shipping.

Last I checked the dealer can still get them for somewheres around 5 dollars each, takes a day or two to get. I've replaced them on all my cars.

We've got one high end dealer down here that can't find parts that are more than 2 seconds old. The other one can't find stuff that's more than 10 years old unless the right guy is working. He'll go out and actually look stuff up, but they are further away. I've really kind of given up on the dealership. I'm glad some of you haven't. If you guys know what can still be had, then I end up calling my dealer back in my hometown.

I installed the NEW polyurethane isolators in my gals LeBaron coupe today. Took ride height measurements before and after, and then again after driving the car. The test drive settles things and gives a final accurate measurement. The new isolators raised the car just a little under 1/4 inch compared to the old squished rubber ones. Was a really easy job. Instructions will come with the springs. In the mean time here are a few photos...

Johnny, I told the guys over at Sweptline.org about you and the work you do and they got pretty excited. There aren't all that many Sweptlines out there so it might not be all that great of a business proposition. But one thing we really need over there is a transmission mount. Chrysler as of this year, no longer has the stock rubber trans mount in stock and the other option fails if you look at it sideways. We could also use some locking engine mounts. I'm sure spring bushings would be great too but there are likely stock type pieces on the market. I've never taken them apart though and they can be greased (very nice option).

To get real measurements I need to get under the truck. The images show the real problems. The plate delaminates from the substrate.

I've never taken a front spring apart, and mine are still working for now. If my Daytona were more reliable I'd be more willing to take the Swepty apart. .

I bought the lowers (love them) and need the uppers (running a little low on the back side on the left).

Did you ever get enough interest or parts in the old pickup trans mounts. I've got one that is torn apart that I can send if you could use it (I found it the other day). Is there a way to make this a locking mount? How many do you need to make it worth making them? ... there aren't too many of us Sweptline guys out there for sure but Dodge recently sold out of these so the need is going to go up. I'm more than a little tempted to front some cash for this (i.e. order 10 or so of then and sell them later) especially if they could be made in a locking version.

As long as your TC(s) have the same rear suspension setup as a lebaron than you are golden...which I would assume they do?

Different springs, different shocks, different axles-tons of different part#'s back there but the same basic design/sizing for the isolators. The PB bottom isolators I bought fit just peachy:thumb:

You do know that practically no two TM's (keeping this K based for simplicity) share the same p/n for any of the tunable suspension components ? Of course we know better nowadays. One size fits all is how we gotta roll. :p

No I don't know much about Turbo Mopars. How about you tell me all about them:p Lets see, bought my first in 87, then another in 88, then another in 90, (didn't skip 89 but I bought a Starion ESI-R that year and I'm not counting it here to make it simple for ya) then about 35 more since then, but please do tell:lol:...

ALRIGHT:
Uppers are $22 a pair plus $6 shipping
Lowers are $24 a pair plus $6 shipping
Buying both uppers and lowers, $46 plus $9 shipping
Buying two sets of uppers $44 plus $9 shipping.

I WILL MAKE THEM!!!!
I have the mold being made right now. I am making them 1/8" inch less in height
because polyurethane will compress less than the rubber. That way they will not raise
the car too much.

Send checks or money orders or use paypal. Add a note of what you are buying.
My email listed here is my paypal account email. OR if you want a request, just
email me your info.

The left one is the stock one, the one on the right is the PolyBushings.com isolator. I made is just a little thinner because poly doesn't compress like the rubber. Didn't want anyone to complain that these raised their car more than the rubber ones.

The mold cost was high on these, closed type mold.
For all 4, the factory price for rubber for these was about $26 (not counting any discounts)
My price for all 4 out of polyurethane is $32
plus $6 shipping

In stock, order now!

These are copies of the factory part that the dealers are running out of.
So I had them made. Dealer price was about $6, you might still find them.

My price is $10 each. IF YOU ORDER BEFORE MAY 25TH.
Then the price will be $12.
Again, if I made hundreds the prices would be better.
But I only make limited runs so my price is higher.

Remember I have the grommet that fits these in stock also. ($19).

I have another new item! A track bar or panhard rod for the Daytona, Shadow, etc (all k-based cars). The stock ones tend to bend. The rod end ones are not perfect for street cars. So I developed one that I think is just right. It is adjustable on one end. It has polyurethane bushings on both ends.
I just made 10 and they are heading to the plating company in the next couple days.
IF you want one, I am making the zinc coated in either "clear" (silver color) or yellow zinc.
These can be painted over after you get them to what ever color you like, or even powder coated.
The reason I am not powder coating them is because of the threaded ends.
So, zinc coated for rust protection! I am using clear, unless you order yours in yellow.
Made from 7/8 inch DOM, 0.156 wall steel tubing.
Price for now is $115 each.
Here is the bar without coating.

Ends up they are all going to be yellow zinc. One batch, one color.
If these sell out and enough people want them and I make more
they can be clear (silver) next time.
They said they should be done this week.
