I finally bought my 87 Garnet Red Shelby Turbo. It is going to need paint. There is a blue double tape stripe that covers the paint line between the Red and silver stripe that runs down the center of the car. So this stripe runs down the center of the car covering the paint line between the red and silver on the hood over the roof and onto the tail of the car. My question is that when I buy a package from Phoenix graphics that this stripe does not appear on there order list. So is this a factory item or is it aftermarket? On a red car was there a taped graphic that covered the paint line? If so where do I get a stock replacement?

To my knowledge, nobody makes that tape stripe. Have your painter tape it off with fine line tape. It will look WAY better painted on than the factory tape stripe.

Yea; That was what I was thinking. But I just wanted to make sure those stripes were original and unavailable!!

Here's mine. That's what Chrysler should have done from the factory. I've noticed that the factory stripe turned blue after 10 years in the sun.

On a red car were the stripes originally Blue? Or did they just turn blue with the sun?

The sun would turn them blue. They must have printed the stripes on blue vinyl. I imagine they used the blue vinyl due to the fact that the first Shelby Chargers were blue/silver and silver/blue.

Yeah, they are not available, believe me I've looked. I think half the reason they used those stripes was that they did a really crappy job separating the silver from the other color from the factory.

Mass production. The stripes were much easier and quicker.
