What everyone is going to tell you is that your collector sucks. I say good stuff! Looks sweet. Great to see someone doing cool one-off stuff.

It seems like the people that talk a lot of 'S' about peoples stuff never build anything, take pictures , or provide any proof that there idea is any better. But I like input. I just build something and try it. I know some headers join the pipes in firing order in the collector. I want to try this. THANKS, BILL

I wouldn't say the collector sucks, though I could be better. That said, I'm always amazed when anyone manages to build any tubular header that will fit in the car! Better than anything I could do myself, that's for sure!

Looks good. :D Why does the collector suck?

I can't tell but how are you doing to hook up the DP?

I have a 90 degree 3" elbow that I'm going to weld to the blockoff plate on the turbine housing and join it up with the cars 3" system. THANKS, BILL

It is less then ideal, but it is freaken sweet header. I only complain about collectors when people are selling headers for gobs of money and don't build a collector that is worth of the money they ar eputting into it.

Is that piece of bar stock your turbo support? You’d be wise to add a joint to allow expansion but still provide support. Look for pics of warren header and how he supported it. It’s a true work of art.

that looks like a sweet piece....i am jealous i wish i had time to play with that type of stuff....one thing was thinking was did you ever look at doing a 4-2-1 instead of a 4-1 collector style.....i have always heard the 4-2-1 gives better scavenging but this was for sport bike motors maybe the 8v is different. I desgined and built the header we used on my colleges formula SAE car that was a 600cc honda motor one year was a turbo and another year was NA. Both years we used a 4-2-1 header. maybe ill see i can dig up some pics of it. it was easy to design because we had tons of room to work with in comparision to our cars.

I am changing almost everything. 2.2 cb 20 over,stock forged crank,K1 h-beam rods,wiseco forged pistons w/file fit rings,901 wrist pins,windage tray and crank scraper,Steve Menegon large valve ported swirl head with his custom cam grind,ported 2 piece w/52mm t body,the header w/external w. gate(38mm t. netics evolution),t3/t4 super 50 trim t. netics,spearco 1080 cfm intercooler,lonewolf performance fuel rail,+40 injectors,accufab afpr,walbro 255 pump,msd 6al w/2 step,t.u. kevlar clutch,568 w/quaife,wideband,other gauges,3" exhaust,suspension and brake upgrades. Other stuff will get done along the way. I am taking pictures and video of the project. THANKS, BILL

Warren set the bar way high! besides indy or nascar racing stuff, I have not seen that type of quality offered by a vendor.

It is 1.5" mild steel. The collector is cut from sheet steel and a big block Mopar header collector I had laying around. The collector to turbo pipe is 2.5" mild steel. I already have ideas for another header. This is sorta a test piece. The next one I do will be in stainless steel and the collector will be a different style. This is the first header I have built for anything so everything is trial and error right now. The header wrap is nasty stuff to work with. If you ever use it wear gloves. FIBERGLASS! BILL

Warren's header is beautiful. He must have a lot of hours into it. The end result was worth it. THANK YOU, BILL

Nice job, after doing mine I can really appreciate the time and work involved making one. Lessons learned from mine, I would do it in mild steel and have it jet hot coated, not stainless. The header wrap I soaked with header paint, by soaking it, it creates like a cast and keeps the fiberglass glued. I went with a 2 into 1 to save space and there is only one exhaust pulse at a time in a pair of tubes, plus with the turbo there is always going to be some back pressure.

Hey Bill, have u perfected the design on the equal length tubular header for the omni's or have u given up on the idea?I've seen others but the idea of equal lengths i find quite impressive, very nicely done,if there'r pics of ur new design (if u r still making them) u can pm me ur response.Regards. The header wrap I soaked with header paint, by soaking it, it creates like a cast and keeps the fiberglass glued. Lemme know how that works out, I was pondering doing that on a mild steel eBay header, wetting it with paint, wrapping it with FG tape, then wetting on top with paint again... figgering it would keep FG tidier and help against underneath rot from condensation and salt spray in winter.... though I didn't know how the paint would fare on the INSIDE of the insulation, whether it would hit above 6 or 700C or whatever it was rated for.

Perfect timing on the question, last weekend I moved my O2 bung farther up the downpipe and cut thru the header wrap with a cut-off wheel and the wrap never untangled, it really did glue it like a cast. I used header paint and just held the can there until it was literally dripping.

Fishcleaner, do you have a pic of that header on the car or mocked up with a intake and turbo? I love the layout!
