gave the colt to my son-in-law but it will be a joint venture between us. I just can't afford another race car or a divorce :(
we figure it will take about 1 1/2 years to complet. so as we swap in the 2.4, the 904 '' with the help from turbocolt2.4'' and all the other stuff you will see it step by step. I can't wait to get started :eyebrows:

Hopefully we will be treated to pics along the way. Maybe now would be a good time for the 'before' pics. I  the Colt, maybe some day I'l build one...

what is the game plan on this build? are you going to keep the leaf springs or going to backhalve the car?How wide of a tire could you fit in the 78 colts? On my 72 i was only able to fit a 7" slick still good for 1.40 60ft's but the car is ready for the chassis shop and getting mini tubbed ladderbars and 10" tires.like i told dave keep an eye on the leafsprings if you are going to keep them mine were bending the front segment.

More then likely it is going to get ladder bars and coil overs. A 26x10 mslick should fit with only minor surgery. The rest of the plan includes a 8 3/4 rear with 3/50? gears, 904 with a break, 3500 stall, put it on a diet and plenty of moly bars. Hopeing for mid nines and hit the scales at 2400.

I got a chrome moly cage from S&W that was for the shelby but decided not to go that fast. with some miner tweeking it will work in the colt. we seen you were having problems with the leafsprings so we are going coilovers.
and yes we are going to run nitrous :thumb:

Glad to see the Colt underway! I hope all the metal work goes well for you. BTW, did you have to massage the firewall/floorpan at all for the 904 linkage and reverse light switch? Curious, is all...

I do body work, paint and ground up restros so the metal work will be the easy part. as for the firewall/floorpan
well we didn't get that far yet. just sent in the money for the adapter, should have it by the end of the week.

I really don't know. the motor and trans where gone. the last owner had a rotory engine in it. I would like to find the baby 904 just to see what they used on the in side.

sorry to say but the colt project is dead. son-in-law lost interest and I don't have the time or the money to do it. so the colt will be sold as i have no room for it. but i will never sale the adapter because some day i will build that rwd.

did you know they made a colt wagon. now that would be cool

well that sucks but i could see where he's coming from its not cheap to build a custom car dont even want to think what i spent guess thats why i have a full time job ,part time job,and do as much side work as i could get my hands on (just transmission work dont like to wrench less its my own)BTW a wagon would be bad --- there is one on e-bay.

tell me about it .it all started with my 1969 charger 15 years ago then the 96 neon with 2.4 swap than i found the colt first thought was smallblock turbo but i kept looking at neon and ripped it apart to put engine in colt.and know the colt is going in for ladderbar/coilover next week.
