I am working on coming up with a logo for our chapter. This is what I have so far. I am looking for suggestion on it or any ideas you may have for a logo. It is just a rough draft.

Can you include my picture somewhere?

Other than that, it looks good! Maybe the "CS" logo in the background or something......but that might take away from the simplicity. I dont know. Looks good as is too. Are you going to buy us shirts for Christmas?

Maybe I could put the CS logo up in the north country, just east of my cottage. I was also thinking of putting the western NY chapter all on one line instead of having the word chapter below it or possibly moving it all below the state image.

Good start... may I suggest you identify what is "western" NY? Or is this really just the "rural" NY chapter? ;)

EDIT: Is that why you included thr rivers? "western" = West of the Hudson? ;)

you could also use WNY instead of western new york....that would make more room and could do a cooler font.

WNY is considered everything that is west of syracuse.

Cool... and for the rest of the world that lives outside of NY state that doesn't know that, how does the logo tell us? ;)

I was thinking of changing the color of the map for the western NY counties.

That is how DV's logo is, kind of shades in their memebrship area.

Yep, exactly. I designed the DV logo with the help of input from our founding club members many many years ago. We kept it "simple" (no terrain, etc) because back then digital printing was in its infancy. Now of course, anything is possible, but even still, our logo gets the point across.

A similiar theme was done for the NE chapter, only shaded in all the corresponding states.

Scott, once you hammer out a design, lemme know if you need a source to run off the decals. I have a "little bit of experience" in doing club chapter decals ;) (see my signature). And yes, we can do full color reproductions....I have a 54" wide printer and a smaller one as well...your imagination is the only thing that limits your idea :)

Looks awesome. The one thing that sticks out to me as out of place is the "Western NY Chapter". I dont know what you could do with it, but maybe make it a smaller font and put it inside of the shaded area of the state.....maybe just "WNY Chapter" Or maybe center it under the SDAC flag?

Other than that, looks good. Just let me know when my t-shirt is ready.

see if you can match the font of the Automobile club and then try and get it directly underneath it. Might make it match a little better.

Lookin' good, nice higher res banner there ;)

Not to be picky but... gotta get the last "R" off the state so it shows up better. Maybe shift it and the banner a little to the left? Or better, widen the banner downwards to put it inside just below the other text ;)

That was the one thing that was bugging me when I made it. I figure I would wait and see if anyone else noticed it or if I was just being finicky.

Nice site. We dont have a site (yet). But you're more than welcome to put our logo up (unless someone else has an objection).
