found a nice polished turbonetics with these specs: "60-1 series t3/4e turbo with a .63 a/r exhaust turbine and stage 3 wheel" Looks like it might be a bit too big for an R/T with no port work or cams...? I was thinking a 50-trim stage 3 wheel would be a better match. Any input would be great.

Yeah its gitting a little large. What are your goals? A 50 trim will max out the +40's so it all depends what you want, heck a little lag wont hurt for traction.

Mid-low 12's with boost and alky, and a little n2o. It has stage 3 cal/hardware, 3"dp w/ cutout, FMIC, nice ignition, Alky injection and a 30hp shot of ZEX with slicks at the track. Also has a little suspension work done to help with the launch. I think its just a bit too big for a daily driven street car.

Sounds like it would flow great at the track, but as a daily driver it would probably be super laggy.

My friend has the same turbo on his 2nd gen eclipse. He said it pulls really hard, but is laggy. I dont think it starts boosting until 4000 rpm. But on 19 psi he was running high 11's in the 1/4.

I would go with the stage 2 wheel also.

Ok, I talked to my friend and I guess I was wrong. He would get full boost at 3800 rpm in 3rd gear. His is the 60-1 with 76 trim, but he didnt know what trim the stage 3 wheel was.

He said 60-1 Simon.....

Either way, I think a 50 trim is the right choice for you for what you are looking for Dr. E.

Thanks, we hashed this over before saying they were close, which they are, lol. It looks like the 60-1 flows even more so I think it would be even worse. I had bad surge with the 60 trim, :(

Does any one have any other input on these turbos for our cars? My friend I mentioned said he would sell me his for $600 and I think I want to pick it up. I would be putting it on my drag car, but at the same time I wouldnt mind having a bigger turbo on my DD R/T. It's very impressive on his 95 Eclipse, but I'm not sure how well it would work on a TM.

I still think a 60 trim is a bad match but for a race motor, it should be ok. I might retry it again after some tuning, doesn't take long to switch compressor wheels.

It's seems to do good on the 2.0 eclipes motor, so why wont it be good on our cars? Do they flow more air than our engines?

Not sure, maybe I had a issue with tuning or something.

The AWD drivetrain might also put a higher load on the turbo helping it spool better.

if you want a nice turbo go with the 54 trim stage 2 wheel T3/T4e cover turbo from turbonetics. does the job well, isnt very big and makes good power early on. i have it on my car that put down 408whp and 442 ft lbs trq

Will it work with a 2.5" exhaust?
