Question: Any future plans on offering silicon couplings and t-clamps for the IC side of things?

Adam, Please forgive the preceding post. The individual is really harmless. From the webpage you provided, there are a ton of products that can be used to help our cars.

Silicone couplings will be a great adder to the offering.

Lugert, please show a bit of restraint. The individual was referred to this sight through other members. It is a great opportunity to broaden the vendor base. Any further posts such as the one above will be removed.

Personally, I have 2 cars currently that WILL benefit from the products he offers.

Restraint? I asked a simple question that was ignored.

I see his name is Adam, thanks as it will be helpful when people say "Adam from Racing-Solutions". Similar to how people say "Cindy at FWDPerformance".

I'm assuming your guy's bend radius' are center line, any chance you could do a 3" radius 3" 90 bend? I picked one up from another company a few weeks ago for a swingvalve project, but after seeing your guys' prices I'm a little embarrassed to say what I paid for it.

Lugert, my name is Adam. I wasn't sure exactly what you were looking for in an answer.

CRMB
02-17-2006, 07:27 PM
All the radiuses are listed by centerline, correct. The tighest we bend on a 3" current (as in we have tooling for) is a 4" radius. We bend 3" on 4", and 3" on a 6" radius. We will soon be offering 3" on a 6" radius aluminized (A787) mild steel exhaust builder kits. The tube came in today.

CRMB
02-17-2006, 07:29 PM
Yes we can. We are currently running 2.5" on a 3.75" radius on our largest bender, so it's very likely that some aluminum bends will be run off with the tooling on the bender. (6061)

CRMB
02-17-2006, 07:29 PM

I would love to see a aluminum bend that will clear the head at a 45* angle and be pointed back toward the front of the car. In a perfect world I would have all the parts to transition it from 2 to 2.5" in one nice kit.

Hopefull a pic to follow.

+1 on the aluminum pieces in larger sizes. I know you said you are working on it so give us a post as soon as the 2.5 and 3 inch stuff is ready and you will have an order from SoCal.

I know it is probably a longshot but are custom bends available? If so what kind of template/drawing/measurements would you need to make a piece with two bends or more in it? I'm guessing the old coat hanger trick isn't going to work;)

CRMB
02-18-2006, 02:39 AM
Just basic measurements. We can take anything from just a sketch to full solidworks models and import them directly into our benders. Typically you want to measure from tangents OR from apex verticies. If you need more of explanation just PM me and I will give you a step by step.

I might have a gasket laying around somewhere, I even have an extra exhaust manifold that I could drop off so you can get some measurements. I'm in Cornelius, OR so shipping it would just be me driving over to you. Let me know.

Also if I purchase anything, could I pick it up to save on shipping and time. If not it's cool. Welcome and can't wait to do business. I'm going to pass the word to couple of my friends that are working on their cars, but not TD's for the intercooler piping.

I have no way of doing that. I can provide you with the bends to do it yourself however. Bent assemblies are complicated, requiring R&D or a prototype then check fixtures and welding fixtures. It's no small task to produce an application specific part.

Wallace, I don't have a phone number for them, but look for an email from yahoo stores that should have your tracking number in it. The way the order confirmation and tracking number emails come it might be easy to confuse them with spam.

I paid with paypal, got my paypal confirmation, a yahoo stores confirmation and a tracking number a few days later when the pipes shipped. The order I placed on the 19th was on my doorstep the 27th. Nice new mandrel bent pipe, just like advertised, I'm happy.

I can't send pics through a PM of the header I'm interested in recreating with you guys. Do you have an Email I can send pics too. For the rest of you it's the original JRB header that keeps the turbo in the stock location. I think it could be redone in RS's 1.5" pipes with a better design at the collector. I though about moving the turbo back an inch or so so you can still use the stock d'pipe and just have to get new oil and water return lines fabbed up but that would be cheap enough. I'm gonna throw the motor back in my GLH and take some measurements just to see how far I can move it back.

Looking fwd to an email addy adam. You can PM it to me if you want.
