Is it necessary to run a oil cooler? I would like to keep my oil temps where they should which in turn will keep the oil pressure up. Whats your opinion?

Nah, we don't have any out of our 5 TM's. The oil pressure always stays nice where it should, so if it would be heating up a bit the pressure would raise considerably and it never has.

Couldn't hurt though if you got the money!

If you are auto Xing it or really beat it on the street, I would think about one. There was a pretty good thread about them a couple of weeks back. I am thinking about adding one, as I really stay on it while cruising around durring the weeks leading up to the dream cruise.

Nothing like WOT from stoplight to stoplight for a few hours to give the oil a pounding.

Heat goes up, oil looses viscocity and becomes thinner causing a drop in pressure. Since I do road racing I installed one that supports 450hp. Saves your turbo too.

Nice catch. You can actually see this when you first fire up your car. The oil pressure is really high around 50 PSI or so at cold idle. When it is warmed up my car is about 12-13 PSI.

ETA: Where did you mount it?

Right in front of radiator, in front of fan.:thumb:

On the oil cooler? No. As far as the cooling system thermostat, I have the stock one. I need to get a 160 degrees one and upgrade to a bigger radiator. I already found a radiator that will support 750hp that with a little of fabrication I can get it in the stock location. At 140mph in the main straight of the local road course the car wasn't cooling fast enough:mad: , the needle was past the middle. Do you know where I can get a 160 degrees thermostat besides FM?
