View Full Version : How to tell Diff SBECs apart?

So here I am, remodeling the garage (WOO HOO!!) and decide that I need to clear it out in order to work more effeciently, so that's what I do. Unfortunatly, for me, in the process I've co-mingled my computers, so now I've got a 90 TI, an 89 VNT, and a 92 TIII SBEC and I can't tell which is which... :confused2: Anyone know how to tell them apart? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Of course not,that would make things too easy! :lol:

Thanks for the link though. I wonder if there is a number inside that I could reference?

You can take the cover off and try to see the sticker on the EPROM. It will be under the potting compound, but if you clean it off, you should be able to read the 3 digit number on the chip thru the stuff. This is the cal ID and it's also the last 3 digits of the P/N.
