just wondering, im going to build a good motor for my omni but untill i have the money im just going to put nitrous on my car. how much do you think a stock 85 2.2 bottom end will hold up to??

The 85's have heavy duty rods so the lower end should be strong enough to handle about 250hp reliably if it's in good condition.

+1 For that! A good rule of thumb is to keep the nitrous to a max of 50% of what the engine makes on it's own. This is just how much nitrous the engine will ingest without giving you a hard time. The next limit will be to not exceed the max total HP (engine and nitrous) that any one component will handle. Usually that's the piston, followed closely by rods. You'll do fine with 50HP and you'll be surprised how much just 50 HP of nitrous will improve performance. If you can, a direct port system would be the best, but a single fogger will do as well, you'll just have to keep an eye out for uneven distribution. Hope this helps!
