I want to convert my '91 'tona to TII. Currently the car is 2.5 TI, auto. I would like to put a 2.2 TII motor and a FMIC in it. What all am I looking at? The intake on the car now has an boss for the IAC sensor that I could drill and tap. I can get another turbo setup and oil/coolant lines as well. The hardware is not the problem though. What do I do about wiring and ECU? I am perfectly capable and willing to socket the ECU in it. Can I just run the necessary new wires, make pin changes and put a TII cal on the SBEC in the car? If so what cal? Is Ladybug an option? What pins do the IAC wires go to? Are there any other pin changes needed?

Feel free to add anything I'm missing :confused2: Thanks!

No one knows how to make a SBEC TI into a TII?:confused2:

I just run T1 comps with a FMIC and the different hardware.

why 2.2? Why not keep it 2.5 in a heavy car like that? just wondering why...

Don't really care for the flatter power band of the 2.5. I can get the same torque from a 2.2, yet I can't seem to get the same horsepower in a 2.5. It really goes flat at 5k and I don't like it.

Overlord- You don't run an AIC sensor?

When I put in the stage 5 from FWD I do, other than that no. Never have. I just added the pin in the connector for it to use with the stage 5 comp. Don't ask my how much that affects it or anything.

This is on your 92 Shadow? And do you remember, or can you dig up info on what the pin location was on the connector? Thanks man!

Yes, i think its 89 or 189 but I can find it and take a pic. I don't have it true tII or anything. It has the stock mitsu, TI inkake, FMIC, 89 TI comp, and wired bung for the temp sensor.

The AIS etc is all the same, all you need to do is add the SMEC wire at Pin 60 for the CAT sensor. As for cals, get ahold of Cindy or ?, crap, need to dig his name up, Shelgame isn't doing them right now.

Hmmm...not so interested in a vendor cal. Shelgame's one thing...but....

Looking into it I will be able to handle the cal on my own. I was just curious about the charge air temp sensor and where it tied into the SBEC harness plug(s). So pin 60? Aren't CAT sensors two wire? What do I do with the other wire?

I love the way my 2.2/a555 TII Tona feels at 4k+. Probably wouldn't feel the same with a 2.5.
