Today marks a day that will forever be remembered.
My 89 Shadow decided to go out in a blaise of glory.
And when I mean ablaise, I mean it literally.
I was at my local Home Depot shoping for some supplies. And over the loudspeaker comes a voice saying, "Will the owner of a white 4 door, with the liscense plate XXX-XXXX, please come to the return counter."
Well, I knew it was my plate number and was wondering what has happend. Maybe a forklift backed into her, or another vehicles may have backed into it.
When I reported to the desk, I was met by a rather excited manager. He asked me if that was my car, and I said it was. He proceeded to escort me outside towards my Shadow. I didn't get but 10 feet outside the front door and it hit me. About 30 feet off to my left, towards my car, was nothing but black smoke bellowing like a Kuwaiti oil rig after Saddam's forces set it on fire.
With the Firefighters there, they asked if I was the owner of the vehicle. I was too much in shock to answer them. After that, they stated that they had to force my hood open to put out the flames.
Needless to say, the engine compartment and hood are completely destroyed. There are absolutely no rubber hoses left under the hood. All the wires are bare, if they exhist at all. The battery is nothing but a molten blob of plastic. And everything is covered in a nice shade of Carbon Black.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the car just yet. I may part out the good items. I may just junk the car. I dunno just yet. But I highly doubt that I'll venture to fix her.
Just had to vent,
