2007 March Winner!
can i nominate someone else's car?
if so i submit:
David D.'s 1985 GLH Turbo:
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/632000-632999/632619_205_full.jpg
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/632000-632999/632619_206_full.jpg
here's why i think it's a good candidate:
-low mileage, unrestored, survivor GLH-T in real nice original condition, Dave is the owner since 1987.
-one of the quickest 100% street legal TD's, running 11.50's at 120 mph.
-this is no "gutted race car", this gem has 100% of its original interior intact, no attempt has been made to lighten this car, Dave even runs with the spare tire and jack in place.
-it's a very-few-left silver w/ red combo GLHT.
-car sees routine street duty during the summer, sending fear into the camps of those so-called musclecar groups not to mention the ricer crowd....this is a reliable, durable, very fast street machine that makes no excuses and is as ready for a car show as it is ready to win at the drags.
-fantastic, but simple engineering throughout the car, using very basic hardware, inspiring the TD community to the potential of these cars.
nice car Dave!

2007 February Winner!
Owned for a year now. Just finished the drivetrain. Will be TU dyno tuned this May. Somebody told me there were around 565 white on white factory 2.5 turbo 5-speed Shadow convertibles (mine's converted to an auto, but I'm thinking of going back the other direction). The rest of the specs are in my signature.

2007 December Winner!
For the month of April, I'd like to nominate my:
1989 Chrysler GS Turbo 2
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/Image065.jpg
I purchased this car back in August from it's original owner. A 70-ish year old german fellow. He only drove it in the summer, (he has a winter home in the Canary Islands) and garaged it year 'round. I paid a mere $3,000 for this beautiful example of a Daytona.
It even has the original "engine break-in period" sticker still on the windshield!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/Image076.jpg
It's a European Export model, so naturally it has all the extra goodies:
Factory Oil Cooler Setup
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/image073.jpg
Folding Mirrors & Amber Turn Signals
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/Image070.jpg
220 km/h Speedo
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/09-08-06_1247.jpg
The car also has (not pictured, sorry) factory converted headlights. They are 4x6 housings designed to accept H4 bulbs, instead of the sealed beam setup. Apparently they are not acceptable here in Europe.
Factory options include:
A/C
Cruise Control
Tilt Steering
Power Windows (but no locks..)
Enthusiast Seat Package
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/09-08-06_1240.jpg
Original "Daytona" Floor Mats
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/09-08-06_1244.jpg
Full body pinstriping
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/Image069.jpg
including the "strobe" type decal on the hood bulge (old picture taken at the dealer)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/kingcalibra/Daytona/09-08-06_1243.jpg
As you can see from the pictures, the car is white/grey 2-tone, with a brown interior. I found this rather odd, since this is the first one I've seen with that paint/interior color combo. (wonder how many there are??)
The car's interior is immaculate, with almost no flaws. The exterior is almost as good, with few dings, and only a couple paint chips, expected from an 18 year old car.
Current List of modifications:
Optima "Red-Top" Battery
Blow-off Valve
Full Kenwood Excelon Sound System (will take pictures tomorrow)
70mm Downpipe-back, open exhuast (no cat, no muffler)
17x7 Intra "P-Line Plus" wheels wrapped in 225/45ZR17 (Y-rated) tires

2007 August Winner!
I'd like to nominate my 1988 shadow es for car of the month.
I bought it in the fall of 1996 with about 137,000 kms. It's evolved alot over the years, from stock to around 300 hp that it is now. And many points in between.
It runs a 2.2l engine from an 88 shelby z. The engine was swapped in 7 or 8 years ago when the factory T1 gave up on a long high speed run to a wedding. Then engine was a 0.020 over rebuild with hyperutectic (sp) pistons, lightly ported head with back-cut standard sized valves, tbi header, custom intake manifold, fuel upgrades up to 21 psi with a small can WGA on a stock T3 turbo. It currently has a large can wga adjusted above 25 psi and a WBO2 to make sure those pistons stay together. Ran a best dyno pull of 262 whp and 337wtq last year. The numbers should be higher this year. Stock A-520.
Car was repainted 6 years ago, and is a constant work in progress. Plans are to be in the 12's
The car runs 13.4 @108 as a best right now, produces 28 mpg and is emission legal.

http://www.turbododge.com/dodge_pictures/files/9/3/3/3/omnimotor.jpg
Here is a write up I did one the car when I first found it.
The origninal owner was a girl, and the guy I bought it from never even registered it, he parked it in 95 when he bought it. He never even chaged the title to his name. Its a funny story how I found it to.
I was at a swap meet at a car show just wondering around and I noticed a guy with a large white board with a ton of cars for sale listed on it, and on the bottom corner in tiny writting it said Omni GLH turbo. So I asked him about it and he said he had three of them! Two non turbo, and one turbo. He tells me that two have been inside for twelve years, and the other was outside and not as nice. He also mentioned that he had a complete brand new T2/555 on a pallet that was pulled in 87 and never used since then. I figured I already had too many cars, and I was really only intersted in the motor for my Shelby-Z which currently needs a motor.
So I go over to his shop and walk in to an entire shop litteraly full of corvettes. He probably had fifteen of them. Along with a couple mustangs, a few camaros, and some other random old muscle cars. I was stunned! And right in the middle of all this was the red car. I was blow away when I saw the car. Zero rust and zero clear coat problems, I knew right when I saw it that there was no way I could pass this up. Next to the red one sat a black 70000 mile non turbo glh in almost as good as shape as the red car. Behind the shop out side sat a blue GLH non turbo with typical paint peel, and only a spot of rust on the hatch. They all started an ran just fine.
So I tell him I would like to buy the red car and the motor/trans. Thats when he breaks the news to me that he owns the red car, his dad owns the black car, and his brother owns the blue car and motor. He tells me that they will only sell them in a package and and want "around $5000" for everything. Considering I didn't have 5 grand to blow, and didn't want the non turbo cars, I started making calls. When no one local had the cash, I posted pictures of the black and the blue car on this site, td, and bm. So after talking to the owner about how much each car is worth individually, I was able to give people a specific price for each car. A guy off bm flew out from cali for the black car, a local guy (on the forum too) bought the blue car, and I ended up with the red car, and the motor/trans.
I seriously changed the fuel filter, oil and filter, air filter, plugs, cap and rotor and have been driving this car ever since. Has been great all summer with zero problems. Truely amazing!
