Today i ran across a 5 speed Plymouth Voyager that did NOT have a turbo motor. I never realized you could get a 5 speed minivan that wasnt a turbo. are they more common than turbo 5 speed vans??

thanks for the info

They are around, not sure on the numbers as turbo 5 speeds are rare. A customer had a stick 2.5 TBI, saw a few at the local pick a part, thats it for TBI models.

The 5 speed non-turbo vans are much more common than the 5 speed turbo vans. Both are pretty rare however compared to the amount of automatic vans made, so It's not suprising you haven't seen one before.

I think 5 speeds are most numerous in later 2.5 TBIs, lots in 2nd gens even, seems like half of all 2.2s I've come across were 5 speed too. However, 3.0s are rather rare with 5 speeds.

There was a 3.0/5 speed at the Buford Hwy Pull-A-Part about 3 weeks ago. I was going to pull the standard shift stuff off, but didn't know if it would work.

there were zero 3.0 5speed mini-van's built from the factory, however there have been several guys swapping a 5speed in them. Myself, allmotor, and local guy who is not on the forums all have done the conversion.

after visiting a few junkyards this week i saw three more 5speed minis that did not have turbo motors. I ran accross a caravan that had a bench seat in front instead of two captains chairs...thought that was cool because i had never seen it before. As for the turbo 5 speed vans, are production numbers out there?

i think i saw every color dodge offered in automatic turbo minis this past week as well. it is fun to check them out when you know what they are in the junk yards.

I've seen two. It may be true they never offered it as an option at the dealer, but there must have been some fleet ones out there or something. One I saw was definitely an ex Bell van, the other I don't know.

This one was a white van with no rear windows (basically, just a panel van), with wheels on it like those on my Caravan ES. They were about to take the wheels off of it to set it in a row with that big---- forklift. It's probably still there. I don't think those wheels came on such a plain-Jane van, but the manual shift items didn't look like they were put in with zip ties either. Everything looked factory. (?)
