... at the Pomona NHRA Winter Nationals last weekend. Bill Howel qualified his Turbo Mini in the #1 spot ahead of 81 other competitors (mostly V8 muscle cars). He turned in a 14.067 ET.
I think that's Terry Ryan's old van - is that right, Terry?

Good to see that van is continuing to show them...
Isn't that the stock eliminator class? He's pushing a mitsu turbo above 20psi I think with no intercooler running alchohol. I believe that's right, can anyone verify? I remember my pops talkin' to him about it.

Yes- Boost above 20 psi :eyebrows:
Hmm, that's good to know. I was thinking I could get the job done with 16-18psi. May have to turn up the wick a bit now.
'Course, the car hasn't turned a wheel yet - but it will soon. I plan to have the car at the NHRA divisional at Indy on Apr 7-9. Hopefully with a couple of test 'n tunes beforehand (weather permitting).

What all are you allowed to change on the stock eliminator class? I see he's got an AFPR, non-A/C bracket, some custom setup for the coolant line returning to the t-stat housing, and no charcoal canister, oh and slicks:)... that scares me how fast you can go without an intercooler and on race gas.

Basically, you can ditch anythign that was "optional" equipment. But, you have to keep a full interior. Fuel system is pretty open, but the engine hardware has to be stock, with the exception of blueprinting. That includes the mitsu turbo for 2.5 T1 engines.
