I would like to know what Brands/Types/Sizes of tires that people run on the Spirit R/T's.

I know OEM is 205/60/15's, but there are not very many manufacturers that make these tires.

I am looking for a high performance, possibly summer only, but most likely all-season tire.

Cost is not a factor, so please let me know!!!

All advice is much appreciated.:amen:

Much Thanks!!!

Tirerack lists 60 different tires in 205/60/15.

Theres sooooooo many options. If money is no object, better just to go to a local tire store and get there opinion. I would spoon 215/60's on, :thumb:

My point in posting this was to find out what eyeryone on here uses.;)

Apparently, I didn't ask this right, Sorry:D

I know there are options available, I just wondered what someone with experience thinks:o

Thanks again.

I had a set of Yokohama Avid H4's on my old R/T and liked them, they weren't the best for flat out drag traction, but hooked pretty good for a street tire, rode and handled nice.

If I was to buy a set of new ones now I would probably go with Bridgestone Potenza Re960's. They get a great review on the tire rack, and a buddy with them on his Daytona has been impressed as well. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE960AS+Pole+Position&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=06HR5RE960PP&fromCompare1=yes&place=39

The Potenza's were what I liked when I looked at tirerack, they seem to be the best reviewed...

More options?

A 225/50r15 would probably not give up too much sidewall, and get a little better traction. Much more availability of summer tire action there too.

For my Spirit R/T, I use 16" GTC wheels with 225/50/16 Kumho 711 'high performance summer' tires for the summer/spring/fall. For bad weather I have 205/60/15 Kumho HP4 716 all-season.

I'm running BF Goodrich 225/50/15 Drag radials, They work well for summer driving.

I'm running 205/60/15" BFG Geforce Sport's all around. They're cheap and seem to be a good quality tire. Cornering isn't great, but I attribute that to the poor factory alignment job. I personally wouldn't put a 225 on a 6" wheel. I've done that on a set of pumpers and also on a set of 6" pizzas and noticed a TON of sidewall flex and poor steering response. Of course, straight line traction was very good.

Kumho V700 R compound tire full tread depth.

I'm running 205/60/15" BFG Geforce Sport's all around.

I have those on my R/T as well. They handled pretty decent, braking was great and acceleration was ok for 300 whp. This is just going from memory since I haven't driven my car for nearly 2 years.:o

While I don't own a Spirit R/t, I have run 2 sets of Dunlop SP5000's on my Grand Prix GTX... I get about 40-45k miles on them... The tire guys scratch their heads and ask me "SP5000's for a Grand prix???" Have 2.t 2.0x short times with them. They are a great tire. The correct size is available for the R/t.

About to buy another set for the Grand Prix (135k miles on it) Ohh.... Looking at a set for the Shelby Lancer as well.

for 215/60r15, get sumitomo htr200s from tirerack for 54/apiece. you will be amazed. quiet, grip, wet performance, treadwear, etc etc all great!! only weakness is steering response, which is a weak area on a 3000+lb car with 6.0" wide rims anyway. plus you can safely air them up to 40-50psi and it improves a lot for track days or whatever.w

Recently bought a set of Dunlop sport A2 for my Spirit R/T, a decently rated all season tire, from Tire Rack. Tire Rack is frequently having rebates on Dunlop tires, this is the second set I've bought (other was Dunlop Direzza, a V-rated tire for autocrossing my GLHS) with a $50 rebate. That more than covers the $30 shipping, and tires from Tire Rack are delivered to me in 1 day by UPS from Delaware whse.
