Saturday at the track I ran my first 13 second pass in my Daytona, a 13.86@81mph. It was first round of eliminations at the Mopar Drag races this weekend, and I was on the brakes trying not to brake out of my 14.3 dial in, which I failed miserably at. I'm curious what the car was going to run had I ran it all the way out. Total I had three runs:
Run 1:
R/T:.142
60': broken no time:(
330': 6.164
1/8:9.391@75.639
1000': broken also
1/4:14.549@96.190

Run 2:
R/T:.414 sleeping
60': 2.067 slight spin off the line
330': 5.895
1/8:9.107@76.808
1000': broken still
1/4:14.25@95.993

Run 3:
R/T:.149
60': 2.010 hooked hard, but clutch slipped a bit
330': 5.662
1/8:8.733@79.699
1000': 11.400
1/4:13.86@81.52

well based on your previous top end gains I would say you probably would have traped 98-99mph and you seem to have done that before.

Based on your 1/8th mile E.T.'s though I dont think you lost much 1/4 E.T.
.4 seconds different @ 1/8th mile isnt going to get you much faster then a 13.8 compared to the previous 14.2

Now if you clutch had not slipped, that would probably be a much bigger deal with your E.T. because that was at the bottom of the track.

The difference between 81 and 99mph for 100-50 feet of the track wont make much difference in your E.T.

If you normally took 2.5 seconds to get from the 1000' to the 1320, and you only braked for the last 100 feet.
2.5/3=about .8 seconds of your e.t happened during the last 100 feet, maybe a lil less because you are going faster at the last 100 feet then the 1000' mark.

Anyways, 81/99=.8 difference

Anyways I can do a bunch of more fake math that doest really represent anything real but

At most you lost .15 seconds on your e.t. Probably less.
The clutch probably hurt you more.

I'm curious what the car was going to run had I ran it all the way out.

Altho ya broke out, nice to hear you broke your record and got into the 13's :) Sounds like it is time to hit up a test-n-tune to see what it will really do! :thumb:

NICE!! I was hoping to log on here after being without the internet for a couple weeks and see that you cracked into the 13's. So does this mean you're finally going to ditch the suck-through setup and bolt on that tbi header?

I dunno, I might try putting just the header on and seeing what kind of gains it gives me, kinda of a back to back testing thing. Gotta get out and make some all out clean runs to see what it will run first, then get it smogged:(, then I can tear into it.

Very nice times! Were you running slicks/drag radials or street tires? I'm in envy of your 2.0 second 60' time! Maybe next year I'll get there with some better tires.:eyebrows:

Way to go man...a 13 second draw thru.

Hoosier Drag radials, the ones with two small grooves for tread. There is room for improvment, They still spin just a little, but I just need to let more air out, still running about 20-22psi in them.
