Hey I was just wondering if someone could point me in theright direction.

I have a 89 shelby z daytona.
I spun some bearings and I want to know if I should goto fwd perf buy there block or go buy a rebuilt. I just want to keep it as original as possible to keep the value up and keep it a cheap job.

where is Hollyhood? I prefer a local machine shop. No shipping. Plus they have been modding 2.2s for 20 years.

Yeah, I agree there, but beware of most shops as they don't specialize in these engines like FWD, TU or even FM does. "Been there, done that" mentality makes a difference for the most part.

But, you can't go wrong going with a quality engine builder. I'd look for someone who builds race engines for a living, not someone into daily driver rebuilds. They won't know a 2.5 tbi vs a T-II. They will argue with you or you tell them what it needs, but they'll still do it their way.

Buy your parts from FWD, TU, etc.... and pick your engine builder of choice.

I wouldn't worry about mixing/matching the block etc for originality sake, only the whittier and R/T cars will appreciate over time.
