what's the best stuff to clean the haze off of them?

Depends on how bad they are. I did see this kit the other day but haven't tried it or heard any feedback on it: http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=2070&cid=33

If it's really bad a combination of wet sanding with a fine sandpaper going to a rubbing compound and then a polish or glaze might work.

i tried some simichrome this morning, it seemed to do ok. i may as well just buy a new rear skirt, i've got to replace the top anyway

It will look better that way. Is it a Shadow or Lebaron? all the Lebaron's I've had had glass rear windows.

It's an '86 lebaron. i found a place on the web that has the glass rear curtain for $300, but that's more than the top is! i may just buy another vinyl rear curtain

I'll sell you my 86 Lebaron, it's got a really nice top and a glass rear window, $800 takes it home. (2.2 TBI car).
