92 Dakota Fender Tag?

Was working on my brother-in-laws 92 Dakota Club Cab Saturday. He mentioned wanting to fix the paint that is peeling on the roof and hood. I said let's order up some paint and supplies and it should take an afternoon to prep and shoot. So I opened the hood and looked for the fender tag to get his paint code, no tag under the hood. He mentions something about the chilton saying the tag is on the passenger floor?

So I do a little research online, and sure enough the tag is under the carpet behind the passenger seat, wtf is up with that. Just wanted to vent a little :mad:

They must have put it there so that it can rust out easier making it impossible to read :)
