Checking out a Sundance and it has a power seatbelt for the front passenger that, if attached, snugs up against the passenger as the door is closing. Was this normal? I never saw them with this before and am just curious. Thanks for any and all help!

automatic seatbelts are an option in the 88 owners manual.

mine even came with some odd clips in the glove box that I believe are related to the system, i think mine had them but was converted to the normal ones at one point.

Nice, that's pretty interesting. I never knew Dodge did something like that. So what years in all had this option?

you can see the "auxiliary tip" I had a pair of those in my glove box.

no idea what years they came on, lots of 89-94 ish cars have automatic seatbelts, its to meat some safety law that was in effect at the time in the states.

I'm not sure on that, but I do know this car only has it on the passenger side (whereas the writeup says its for both sides)? lol

A guy I ised to know had a Shadow like that. We ended up converting the car to manual belts since the automatic belts were bad anyways.

All US Spec 94 Shadows and 94-95 Spirits have an automatic seatbelt on the passenger side to comply with a US law for passive restraints on both sides of a car.

The 88 shadow I picked up for a ice racer has power belts on both sides. didn't really notice until I got home. Haven't hooked a battery up to the car yet so hopefully they still work.

Good luck. lots of them have worn tracks. That's why my old friend switched to regular belts
