Ok. Today I bought a 2.5L engine for my 85 shelby charger because it only had 22000 original miles on it and ran perfect.

From what ive read you have to use a glhs computer and wire up the ais motor and then use +20's to make up for the 17% larger fuel curve. Is this correct?

Also do I have to intercool the engine for it to run properly? I only say this because myy dad doesnt want me to have the extra horses in such a light car.

Also will the 525 hold up with the 2.5 and does it bolt up directly?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Use the +20 and retard the spark timing.

Intercool means more reliable engine and more power. You don't have to turn up the boost, but intercool it.

A525 will bolt up but it will not last long.

I run a 2.5 in my charger on 87 electronics. You can get an 87 2.5 cal from some of the vendors now or there are people on here that can do it.

I don't think the 525 will last long if you abuse it.

Intercool it, install a g-valve and lower the boost to compensate. It's worth it!

Dumb question here, but I'm surprised it hasn't been asked yet...

Is this an orig 2.5 turbo motor? I know your name and your charger don't match drivetrain wise, but that means very little I guess...

What did this motor come out of?

lol I made my name when I was getting my rampage but I found a shelby charger instead. The 2.5 motor is out of an 89 lebaron and he only reason im using it is because it has 22000 original miles on it so its like new.

Of course its a turbo. Y would I swap a 2.2 turbo for a 2.5 N/A?
lol

The reason I ask is because, believe it or not, SOME people have been known to use an N/A motor in a Turbo application. I figured it was a turbo motor, but I had to ask before you sent the pistons of a N/A motor into the pan. ;) :thumb:

Thats hillarious.

Would a 555/525 hybrid from cliff hold up?
I dont want to swap to a cable shifted setup.
