The attractive art teacher at school loves her 97 NA eclipse and so I pulled the codes for her on account of a CEL that was on. I used the key on key off method and got the following.

12, 72(???), 43, 31, 53.

I seem to be finding conflicting reports on how to pull the codes for this car as well as what they mean. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Not yet, but it looks pretty inevitable at this point. However, it would seem that my district has a strict policy whereby they will only higher hot teacher. I am the only guy in my building and they know that I can fix things. How can I say no? I am powerless against them. :p

should be the same as our cars, the neons were the same way and being a NA car it has all Chrysler electronics

haha, its throwing the engine coolant temp one.

the reason i laugh is my talon is setting the same code and no matter what i do it won't go away. :/

also, you can take the car... or have her take the car to a place like autozone to use thier code scanner to get the actual obd2 codes which should clarifiy it some.

Where is the sensor for that? I've seen some cars where it's tapped into a section of pipe, that should be bolted to an engine or chassis ground, then the bracket rusts off, or someone never bolts it back down again, result screwy sensor trouble, 'coz it doesn't have the ground it should have, and it's grounding (badly) through the coolant, which may also cause electrolytic issues (Frequently corroding heater cores are a favorite)
