I am trying to pick out a FMIC for my spirit
I am converting it from N/A to 2.2 turbo 2 with a nice ported top end followed by an A568. I am aiming for/expecting 300/325 from it.
I was looking at these IC's on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CARBON-HKS-S-BLOW-OFF-VALVE-FMIC-INTERCOOLER-PIPING_W0QQitemZ8035525615QQcategoryZ33742QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem
I thought this one looked good, plus the bov and piping is nice
I was also looking at this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUGE-INTERCOOLER-24x12x3-TURBO-FMIC-JDM-NISSAN-HONDA_W0QQitemZ8036605487QQcategoryZ33742QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem
only $130 and it has some good stats
any thoughs on this? or suggestions?

Piping is aluminum, hope you don't plan to weld it too much. The clamps are not T-bolts, the ywon't hold too well without the original edges/flanges on the pipes.
I wouldn't go for the kit personally. Flow wise they seem nice.

good eye...I guess I could get some seperate clamps if i go with that one...the only welding would be the BOV

I think the procharger intercooler that is in the 'for sale' section is a steal, plus they work well, very well.

yay more options...that always makes it easier hehe
think the procharger is really worth $200 more?

I would not touch that first one with a ten foot pole. I would be leary of the second one without pics of the inside.
I too think the procharger is a good deal.

I like the black piping with blue couplers in that first auction. I looked at the other auctions and its $100 for just that piping and couplers. It even has those REALLY small/tight bend 90* silicone pieces I'v been looking for.
Thanks for puting that link up...i might buy that piping by next week.

That's pretty much the most poorly designed intercooler out there.

Well I just got this one in the mail:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8035377379
I got the one with some 2.5" piping (steel).
The IC weighs about 15-20lbs.... looks thick as hell and welded very nicely. I haven't had a chance ot install it, that will take some doing! I think it will flow like heck, 1200cfm for sure (not a lie I think).

Everytime I got to check out, the price still says $189 and the only shipping option is $6.95 flat rate ground.
I believe this is the cooler that's going into my Daytona!:amen:

The one you got for $138 flows 1020 CFM, and the one on Beyond Bedding is a 1250 CFM cooler. Think that extra flow will make that much difference to justify the extra cost?

To be honest with you I think they are pulling their numbers out of their arse. I think what they try to do is look at the top selling spearco's, precision, whatever intercoolers, and basically just state numbers that are similar to those manufacturers.

I think so too....the two intercoolers have the same dimensions and core sizes. Oh well...I guess I'll go with the cheaper one, lol!
But mine WAS from B & B....
It's the one Matt Wright used to pick up 6/10 second and 4 mph with *no other* changes over a T2 unit!!
Works for me. ;)

Hey this reminds me - Mario, where are those pics of the ICs you have that I asked for? You could post them here for reference on sizes as well.

Prochargers are posted here: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1556
The only other intercooler up for grabs right now is a Precision Intercooler for $440 Shipped. It's the "750HP" Unit.
