It was hooking really good with a new personal best sixty foot of 1.80 :eyebrows:

I'm moving my shift chip up another 200 rpm tonight......maybe it will deliver the goods :thumb:

You lost 2 mph.... hope that's not an indication of something to come.

Gus always used to say that when his mph went down, he would change his tranny fluid and it would go right back up.

Time for a flush?

Hey Steve.....I hope it's not either....LOL!!!

I've only ran 112 mph once on a very smooth track ;)

I've ran 110-111(mostly 111) about 30 passes in a row now....LOL!!!

I made a major gear change along with a tire height change AND a shift point change....LOL!!!

I was working my way back up on shift rpm last night. I'm almost back to where I have been shifting it since it's been in the 12's ;)

The trans fluid has 10 passes on it....I have a fairly strict service schedule on those types of things :)

Just another pound of boost. ;) The weather is getting cooler so I'm sure you'll get it before the end of season.

he's hooking better, mph goes down, ET goes down.

spin the tires out off the line, mph goes up, et goes up.

Congrats Terry, especially on your new best 60'!

My brother called me on my cell right after your 12.065 pass and I started kicking myself for not going to the track. Will you be out next Friday night? It would be great to meet you and check out that fine machine. :thumb:

Update? I take it from this post that you were going to run it last night again?

Looking at your 12.0 slip... both cars have al;most identical 1/8th mile ET and mph, and the same for the 1/4 mile...but look at the in between at the 1,000 foot mark. 1-1/2 second difference? That timer must have screwed up on that area somehow but got the other back on track. Either that, or you hit the nawz hard at the 1/8th and the tank ran out right after the 1000ft mark.

I went but I didn't run the minivan. It was raining off and on so I decided we would just run the Sundance ;)

I saw that :)

There must have been a glitch in the 1000' timer in my lane but it didn't seem to effect any of the other measurements. If you look at the 12.08 slip everything but the 1000' time looks very similar ;)

Thanks :)

I just need good air with no wind and I think we'll have it

Everytime I've been to PIR lately the wind is blowing up the track towards the starting line at pretty good pace.........less than perfect conditions for a bus race....LOL!!!

When I'm going for my best ET I don't even watch the lights after the first amber.......LOL!!!

However.......I ran another Heads Up style race last weekend and nailed everybodys azz on the tree except the guy that red lit and gave me the round ;)

I got down to the final 4 cars before a 68-69 Charger put a fender on me right at the stripe. He had an aluminum headed big block with a Dominator carb and a 12" slick so I didn't feel so bad...LOL!!! I left on him so hard I thought I had him until I saw that black fender roll up on my right just as I clicked 3rd. It was an eight mile track setup on an airport runway.......good times!!!

Look like your fastest run was a close race! What were you up against? Did you drive your van to the track?

They just didn't fit well and my wheels are too narrow for a 9" tire ;)

I just went my very best sixty foot time on the 26 x 8.5 M/T's like I have always ran in the past

I think it was a Chevelle or Camaro.....I really didn't look :)

I trailered the van to the track ;)

When are you going racing again, Terry?

Also, is your van still a street van?

I'm hoping to go as soon as Friday night but it depends on the weather ;)

The van has current tags and insurance so I can drive it anywhere if I want but I prefer to tow it to the track just in case I break something.......LOL!!!

Dave

You ever drive it on the street? How does it do? Mine still "drove" excellent for a street car.

I don't drive it on the street very often.........I have an 06 Caravan I drive most of the time ;)

I just take it out to test it sometimes :D

The cal I got from Gary's is "spot on" :) My van drives just like it did when it was stock........possibly better :thumb:

Reading this just reminded me.

You made national radio a couple of weeks ago. NPR has a comedic current events quiz show called Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Its on around the same time as cartalk. They devote some of the time to odd points of the news, and you made it. It was a second had account from wherever they saw it, but who cares.

Your famous now.
