Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could remove the EGR system on my 2.2 T1 without any adverse effects on performance. The car doesn’t have to go through DEQ and it would free up a little more room back there. A DC intercooler and intake is also going on. If I remember right the GLHS doesn’t have an EGR system.
Thanks in advance, Doug

I Thought that the 86' GLHS came with EGR, but not the 87'?

Remove the valve and piping. You will need to make a block off plate for the intake and for the exhaust, either weld the hold closed or cut the egr pipe and fold it over a few times close to the turbo and reinstall. Keep the solenoid plugged in on the egr transducer to keep the check engine light off. Just listen for pinging at cruise speeds-thats when the egr is on, if you hear a bit, just back off the timing slightly or run higher grade gas,
