I was talking a while back with a guy who was thinking about cutting off the straight outlet of his TO4E housing and welding on a 45# bend where that was so that he coule clear the head and make it as smooth a transition as possible by only needing another 45* bend to point the IC hose back toward his spearco FMIC.

As many of you might have seen on my site, my seftup could be better, and I was wondering what those of you runing hybrids have done to get around the head in the most efficient way possible.

Gary D and others have done it, he even has pics on his site. I just used IC elbows from a Gen 2 RX7 when I did mine.

I know that gary welded the 90* bends to the cover, but myself and the guy I was speaking with were talking about cutting down the part of the cover that is meant to allow the connection of the IC piping, and welding a 45* bend in it's place. I don't think that a 45* bend would clear the head otherwise.

2 45s on mine. I didn't cut the end off but I usesd 2.5" bends that slipped a bit over the turbo end. Cleared the head fine. See half way down page 3. www.cardomain.com/id/turboshad (don't know how to post a pic on here yet. Just found the forum)

OK, I see what you did there. That is pretty slick. What is the OD on that comp cover outlet, 2"? Did you midify the cover at all, or just weld it on there?

I think it was about a 2 1/4 OD and 2 ID but it was a while ago so I could be wrong. I didn't want to modify the cover b/c I thought at some point I may want to take the 45s off so I just left it. Maybe not the best for flow at that point but it hasn't seemed to be a problem.

Well, I have to believe that your dual 45* setup is superior flow wise to anything I have seen to date. I might have to try it out. Thanks for sharing.

Ya, I didn't like the looks of the double 90 either. THought there was a better way.

i just used a 2 in rad hose that i got at autozone and cut off one of the ends. it has a 2.25 end on it and then i put a 2.25 to 2.5 exhaust adapter in it to another 2.5 coupler then into my 2.5 pipe. it has a slight bend in it to get it out around the head.
