Nice Job Barrry, felt like I was at SDAC 17, :partywoot:

I saw the pics of Larry's RWD CSX, do we have anymore info? I saw the engine bay and went WTF then saw 2 more pics. RWD Neon head or Neon motor, pretty sweet, :amen:

Supra trans with a Dakota bellhousing... fast as stink at the track when he got the shifting down!!! Holset turbo I believe. Larry did all of the fabing himself!

Really was a great car!

Glad you liked it Simon. :D

Larry is on TD once in a while, but he really isn't very active on the boards at all. I was really surprised by his car. I hadn't walked by it at the hotel and the first time someone told me it was RWD I argued with them because it was FWD at Topeka last year. A couple other folks then chimed in to correct me and I knew it was time I get another look at his car. :D He's a little like Warren Stramer in that he doesn't say much, but his work speaks volumes! :thumb:

Mmmmmmmmmm, not at SDAC!!!

Thanks Gary, anymore info on how he did it. The first pic that caught my eye was his timing belt cover, sticks out like a sore thumb in the newsletter, ;)

I did the same double take but the turbo caught my eye first. Those Holsets jump right out at me now. But the thought I had was "how did he get it over there?", until I noticed the timing belt cover you mentioned. I bet that thing rips. The power of a 16v and the traction of RWD to hook it up. All in a lightweight little (stock looking) Sundance :thumb:

The car goes like stink too. It ran high 11's breaking loose mid track.

If he gets it to hook and go straight, it will have loads of potential.

1st run at SDAC 17 Larry went 11.7 on street tires. He hadn't much practice with it. I was shooting pics. When it launched Larry lost grip of the steering wheel, went thru 1 st gear no hands!:eek:l

Barry

I think he eventually squeezed an 11.1 out of it.

He let me drive the car a bit and let me tell you, that thing has a ton of power. It's a blast to drive!

I didn't race it, just blasted it down Opdyke a bit on Friday. Within the legal speed limits of course....

his personal best is a 11.1. 128mph is the fastest too i think.

the car has 4 camaro control arms connected to a ford 9" as the connection points to the rear of the car. he welded up a steel structure in the back to connect those control arms to.

i know there are dsm KYB agx shocks back there but i cant remember what the rear spring/strut setup is back there. probably springs over the KYB's.

im sure larry will chime in if he sees this.

Believe it or not.....his cam gears are from a couple of Geo Metro 3 bangers...slightly modified to fit! Neither came from the one that I used to make money in two of three races.....19.90 at 65 mph baby! The first car I ever had to race with it was a mid 60s Vette that was dialed at 7.70 to my 19.90....we both ran .002 off and I beat him with my .030 light compared to his .036!
 :D :eyebrows:
