Hey guys, Im building a car similar to the SDAC NY project car and was looking thru the pics and saw this pic. Ive also seen one installed in gary D's reliant. If (when... lol) I remove the backseat do I have to have some sort of barrier to race the car? It will be a almost track only car, so I dont want to get to the track and not pass tech.

thanks

I think it is required if you have your fuel cell mounted in the trunk.

You only need a rear 'firewall' if you have items like batteries, fuel cells, or nitrous in the trunk.

you actually don't need it with nitrous...

IF you have a dump tube extended outside the vehicle.

We had to add the firewall before the fuel cell was back there. IIR it was because the fuel filler pipe is near the trunk.

I think we put the firewall in back when we were thinking of running nitrous on it.

Before that, Grove told us we had to have it...

hopefully the rednecks that run my local track wont notice. Ushally if you show up in a FWD they dont tech it to hard, and in a beat NY they probaly wont even look in the back seat.

They pay so little attention to Imports/fwd I saw a DSM make 2 10 second passes one night. With no cage.

LOL...

the funny thing is that grove does not tech too hard either...

I have a gallon of meth in the trunk w/ no rear seat, I'm not sure what they'll say but will find out. Also I hope I can rip off a few 10 sec passes in the future before they kick me out
