It is Rob's car. It is fast! In the first round of quick 8 eliminations, he passed me before the 1/8th mile mark like I was sitting still. It was actually pretty cool to have your doors blown off like that.

I had a friend who owns a body shop do it at his leisure one winter. I pulled all the panels off the car and brought them and the shell in stripped of trim. He stripped it down to bare metal, fixed most of the imperfections and painted it all in base/clear for about $1500. I put it back together and painted all the trim/bumpers/ground effects. etc..

It's nothing too wild under the hood, just building it up to be a fun street car. It's got an 85TI block with an MP ported G-head. Stock turbo and the DC over the valve cover intercooler kit. The hoodscoop, computer, guages and roll bar are all old Direct Connection parts as well. I'll probably keep the boost in the 14psi range for the most part.
The car is running now but needs some finish work underhood. I haven't touched the brakes or suspension yet. Hopefully this winter I'll get new struts, poly bushings, brakes, and 2.5" exhaust installed.
The car is going to retain a full interior and A/C so it's not going to be much of a lightwieght, but again the goal is a fun street car that gets a little attention, not an all out race car.

DAVE i've always thought your GLHT was one of the best prepared/appearing examples i have seen, the hood just looks great and the engine setup is very well done, nice work!
have you ever taken it to the track or to the dyno? what trany are you running in that car? any pix of your two 86 glhs cars?
DODGEGLHT nice score i've been looking for a silver/silver glht for a long time, it's my favorite color combo.... what's the specs on that car? mileage, engine, etc? will you be restoring it at all?
this past weekend our NE-SDAC club participated in a Shelby/American Muscle car show near Boston so i got to take the car to the 1st event for me for this year. we got to show the Shelby Ford folks cars many of them never knew existed. i think the best car shows are the one's where we get to mix up omnis/TD's with musclecars. too bad we didnt have a dragstrip nearby that would have been a home run.

I have one now. My first car was an L and I never really got to drive it. Now I have an 86 Blue with silver SC converted to T2 with a GLHS stage 2 LM. I'm still gathering more parts but it should turn out nice when I'm done. I'm hoping it will look half as nice as your DC car Dave. Thats one sharp L!
