Here is what I have for a 2.5L LM setup. Its based on Geoff Allan's Blueberry 60 codebase so it has the CEL Blink on knock and a launch rev limiter set at 3500 rpms. Ecu controlled boost is set at 16psi with part throttle at ~9 psi. Makes for a smooth drive. Table file is included for D-cal and a CalX file is included for ChEM2. Happy Tinkering. :)

I know this is an old post but is this cal safe? Im tired of blowing up my engine. My car is an all stock 2.5L w/ mitsu turbo. 2.5" exhaust and glhs IC/radiator.

its pretty safe especially with ecu controlled boost. lemme take a look at it again. i need to update these with some of my latest changes/findings.

here are some updates on my current base cals based on some testing.

I'm going to run this cal on the CSX today for engine break-in. I have a 2.5L Swirl head cal based on the Blueberry 60 and it seems like I have something messed up in the timing.

stock head?

it might be a little lean on startup but it should be pretty good. my car likes it :) its a pretty conservative cal.

I broke the motor in today on the cal and it seemed fine at 20psi. No knock and decent power. Of course, now I need to add a bit of timing and pull fuel so I can take advantage of my alcohol again. I definitely approve of the cal as a good baseline.

As far as the head goes, it has the stock valves, unshrouded combustion chamber, cleaned up bowls and smoothed ports. Nothing serious, but definitely several hours worth of work. Still a stock turbo cam with Neon lash adjusters.

cool. glad that it works well.

That old 2.5 G head cal works great. I sure wish I still had a car with a 2.5! Ahhh I miss my 2.5.....

Does anyone find the Knock sensor sensitive to engine sounds? The CEL flashes at 1psi and I've achieved 18psi without physically hearing any knock. Perhaps my timing is advanced? any suggestions on why my car "pings the sensor" at 1psi or if anyone else has had this problem input would be appreciated. Thanks :)

what were the conditions when the cel came on at 1psi?

did it go off as the boost rose?

Todays weather is approx 10-15 degrees C, no rain. At cold start there is no knock sensor warning until i have about 4 bars on the temp gauge (digital dash). once the car is warm the CEL flashes at 1psi. My gauge doest show vac and I am under the impression it flashes knock warning at 0. I find when I let off the throttle it flashes once or twice 'after' the BOV has opened. I am currently driving with no O2 sensor until mine arrives in the mail. Through your experiece, and others, is the knock sensor sensitive to engine noise? should I expect it (is it normal) to flash here and there from normal driving? without O2 it's hard to tell if it's lean, but is it common to be pinging as low as 0-1lb boost?????? From what I have read this cal is pretty good, maybe I should be posting my question in a different thread :eyebrows:

I should mention, the rev limiter works good but and the CEL flashes here and there too....

wait? no o2 sensor? im glad it runs well enough but you need to fix stuff before you ask questions that could be caused by 90 different things :)

yeah the cel will blink on that cal when the limiter is in effect.

When I used to run the 2.5 G head cal it would indeed flash CEL frequently when letting off the throttle around 1-5 psi of boost. I always ignored it but now that I have a different car with a different cal I feel like the CEL light should be coming on even though it does not.

What is the switch for the 3500 launch limiter? Is it the lack of a speed sensor signal?
Can I get a copy of this cal without this feature?...swirl
Thanks....dean

its set to come on below a certain MPH. I believe in the 'stock' BB60 its like 2 mph. So if you dont have a speed sensor that could be a problem. It can be turned off if you recompile the BB60 with that option turned off.

That would be great if I knew what I was doing. Anyone want to put it together for me? I can burn a chip just never learned this code

so what you want is a cal with no staging limiter, set up for what combination?

Open up the cal in chem2.

Select Rev Limits from the drop down menu.

Go down to StagingModSpeed.

Set it to 0 to turn it off.

That should be it.

Alright, I am runnin Wideband 02 sensor by PLX devices with Bocsh 02 sensor. 2 degrees celc, with 10:1 at WOT. Knock sensor is flashing at 0-20 psi. suggestions? I am using 91 Octane, Fuel regulator is pushing to the max. I obviously have LOTS of fuel. Knock sensor flashes when I hit 0psi and stays on steady when letting off the gas for 3-5 seconds. I was thinking of trying Sonocos 94 octane but seeing as how it flashes at 0 psi, Octane is probably not problem... ideas?

Aries_Turbo

take out a degree or two of timing at 0psi from the AdvanceFromMapWarmFull and AdvanceFromMapWarmPart. then take out fuel so its at 11.5:1 and see how that works out.

is it when you let the whole way off of the gas or partway off of the gas.

Brian

PS, which Mt Pleasant are you from?

Alrighty sounds good. I noticed today being closer to 10 degrees outside my fuel is 10.9 to 11.3 at WOT. I'll check the timing. I'm from Mt P just on the outside Brantford Ontario, some people refer to the community as Burtch as it's 'known' for the old Burtch Jail facility.
